Saturday Nov 3

Orienteering 1:13:15 [3]*** 5.1 km (14:22 / km)
shoes: Orienteering shoes
My first couple controls were just a little sloppy and I then made a 10 minute parallel error on number 3 (even though I had consciously thought about the possibility of taking the wrong spur and tried to make sure not to). Besides that, it was a pretty good race, although there was thick vegetation in places.

Day 1 Green Y - Splits

Friday Nov 2

Event: US Champs

Orienteering 26:51 [3]*** 2.5 km (10:44 / km)
shoes: Orienteering shoes
Sprint at US Champs. I had a two minute error on the first control since I was looking for a ruins and it appeared to be in a pit and I was also just confused and too far to one side. Even though I had just run the model, it didn't seem to help me focus on the first control. I also had a 4-5 minute error on control 7 because I cut through, but when I got to the stream, I turned left instead of right. Besides that, it was a pretty good race; unfortuneately, sprints are so short that these mistakes counted a lot.

Sprint Green - Splits

Wednesday Oct 31

Running 36:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Asics
Warm-up, cool-down, and 4 race pace intervals at upper woodland.

Monday Oct 29

Running 22:40 [3] 3.0 mi (7:33 / mi)
shoes: Asics
I got to xc late, so I ran the Haller Lake loop backwards to meet up with everybody, but it turned out they had run the loop backwards too, so I ended up running by myself. The loop is a little less than 3 miles, I managed to not have to stop at the stoplights, and I was running fast initially to try and catch up with people, so I ran it faster than I typically run that loop. This run felt really good.
soccer 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: cleats
soccer practice. We did a lot of 3 v 2 (with only five people) and keep away, so it was more running than normal at practice, not that that means much with my team.
