| The third WIOL meet at Hamlin park. My biggest mistake was from control 2-3. I guess I must have ended up on the trail that was drawn in by hand. I also somehow crossed over a paved path without realizing. I lost a couple minutes there just because I ended up on the wrong trail, so I made a big loop around instead of going straight to the point. Then from control 6-7, the circle for control 11 was right on that line, so I ran to control 11 and then realized I wasn't even halfway to my control. I probably lost another minute or so there because I was being really careful with the trails as well as ending up about 50 m north of the (wrong) control and then having to figure out exactly where i was again. if i had realized i needed to keep going, i would have gone faster since there was a huge trail to catch me just on the other side of 11. And for control 10, i saw a fairly big trail intersection and thought that was what i was looking for instead of an even bigger trail intersection farther on, so I lost a tiny bit of time there too, but not much. In general, it was an all right run. I could definitely notice that my foot wasn't feeling like normal, but it felt a lot better than it has the past week, so that's good. And there were a record 14 Lakesiders at the meet! I was very excited by that. |

| The first city tournament game. We beat the Goal Girls 1-0 thanks to a PK early on. They were a really rough team and their goalie even got a red card (for swearing at the ref). It was still fun though. And my foot was bothering me whenever I ran, which was obnoxious, though the game took my mind off of it. |

| I took today off also, because my foot still hurts a little. It's a lot better than it was on Monday (yesterday I was sitting down practically all day, so it's hard to compare), and my dad thinks it was just inflamed or something because of over use. I'm planning on playing soccer tomorrow night, so I wanted to rest it today. |

| Since my foot is still bothering me, I didn't want to go running, but I wanted to get in some sort of exercise. I went on my dad's stationary bike for a while. In general I dislike any sort of exercise machinery (I'd rather just go for a run), but I read my history book so I didn't get too bored. It also helped get rid of the soreness in my quads so they feel fine now. |

| I took today off to rest my legs. They're still pretty sore, though nothing bad except the outside bottom of my right foot still hurts anytime I put weight on it. Hopefully it'll go away by tomorrow. |

| Seattle half marathon:
Simone and I started about 3 minutes after the start because of really long bathroom lines and then having to push our way to the front. After about 3.5 miles, I told her to go ahead, because I was getting really tired (we were running 7 minute miles and she was speeding up). I ended up running the rest of it by myself. I ran the first four miles in 28 minutes, and the next two miles were both around 7:20. I slowed down a little after that. The last two years I've felt really strong on the big hill at mile 7.5, but this year I was pretty tired on it. My goal for this year was to get sub-8 minute miles the entire course, and I definitely did that, so I'm happy. I was pretty tired by the end. I ended up with blisters on both feet (even though I wore the same socks and shoes i've been wearing on all my long runs) and my left quad felt a little stiff at times during the race, but not bad. |

| Directly after the half marathon, I went to my soccer game because we only had 10 players without me. I got there a few minutes late, and then I played forward for a couple minutes till I realized I could still run (I had made sure to stretch well after the half maraton) so I switched back to defense (my usual position). I was feeling ok, especially for the first half, though I was getting pretty tired by the end. The second half I started in goal to get some rest, and that was just the worst decision ever. I gave up an easy goal that I should have been able to stop, but my mind was thinking one thing and my body just wasn't cooperating. I then went back out and played on the field the rest of the game, though by the end I was just ready for it to be over. It was fun though. My legs were pretty sore (especially the bottom of my right foot). I'm just going to take it easy this afternoon. |
