rock climbing 2:00:00 [3]
I feel like I'm improving. 5.9s are definitely climbable again. And Mr. Searl taught us how to use the cracks when climbing although I'm really bad at that right now. My hands are really sore, but I didn't climb enough for my arms to be get too tired.

Thursday Jan 10

Running 26:00 [3] 3.0 mi (8:39 / mi)
shoes: Asics
I ran around Haller Lake with William. I forgot to start my watch after I stopped it at the stoplight, so the time is approximate.
Running 3:55 [3] 0.5 mi (7:49 / mi)
shoes: Asics
I ran 2 laps around the track since William (and I) wanted to run more and Max hadn't cooled down after running sprints.
Strength 15:00 [3]
nifty-nines (20 crunches, 10 on each side for everything else, no jelly-rolls)
planks (1:00, 0:30, 0:30, 0:30, 0:30 - front, side, back, side, front)
wall sits (3 x 1:00)
C • haha, I would've loved this... 3

Orienteering 47:45 [3] 3.4 km (14:03 / km) +140m 11:39 / km
shoes: Asics
Four of us went to Shoreview Park to practice orienteering after school. Holly and I ended up running the high school girls WIOL course from January 2005. It was a pretty fun course, and it was nice to orienteer somewhere I hadn't been for a while. Since it was an old map, some of the trails had changed a little, there were lots of blown-down trees, and this one bridge on the map didn't exist, but it all worked out.

Holly and I alternated leading legs, and we ended up running the course about 6 minutes slower than I ran it freshman year, but that includes stopping to talk about route choices and stopping to make sure we were at the right spot because the map had changed a little and of course there weren't any actual controls. And we had an amazing time fighting through the salal on the second to last control. We got to cut through a little green before that which was pretty fun, except I didn't have my spikes so the shoes I was wearing had horrible traction and I kept slipping. It was good practice.
