| Score O at Priest Point. I got 975 points. I could have gotten about 100 more points near the end if I wouldn't have been so worried about getting back on time (there was a 1 hour limit). It was really fun since several of the controls were in the middle of green areas, so they were more technical. They were good practice, although I did manage to run through a bunch of stinging nettles. I was kind of slow on the first couple controls, and besides that my main error was not cutting across the tidal beach area after leaving point 124 because on the map it looked like it would be really marshy, though other people cut through and said it was fine. I also could have gone to a few extra points at the end. The distance was attained by attempting to follow my route with a ruler so it's approximate. | ||

| Metro standings:
I'm 19th in the 400 with 1:04.1 (not my best time), so I probably won't get to run that. I'm 12th in the 800 with 2:27.90. I'm 8th in the mile with 5:34.70. (The top 16 in each event qualify, and I'll find out if anyone drops after the coaches meeting on Monday.) These are better times going into Metros than I've had before.

| I ran the open 400 today in about 63.8 seconds (unofficial time). I was happy with that since I haven't run the 400 individually in a long time. It might even be enough to qualify for metros in which case I'd need to decide what to run. It might not be though, which is fine since I'm already qualified in the 800 and mile unless about 8 girls in each event ran faster today at the various meets than my time. | ||
| Running (track race) 1:06 [5] 0.25 mi (4:23 / mi) | ||
| I ran the first leg of the 4x400. I was really tired by this point because of lack of sleep and having run around a lot already (400 m race, high jump, warm-up, etc.). | ||

| Running 40:00 [3] | ||
| warm-up, cool-down, and high jump
I was so excited to do the high jump today even though I wasn't able to make it over the opening height of 4'2". I haven't practiced this at all during high school, and I was at least able to make it over a couple of the lower practice heights, so I felt good about that. And most of all it was fun, and it helped make the meet today a really enjoyable last season meet. Running the 400 m, the way it was warm and sunny, and having a bunch of my friends come to watch also made the meet a lot better.

| Running (track) 30 [3] 0.2 km (2:30 / km) | ||
| I ran the 4x100 at the Lakeside Olympics today in both the prelims and finals. I love the 4x100, although someone was handing off to me who had never done hand-offs before, so i kind of dropped the baton during the finals during my first hand-off (my second one was nice). I have no idea how fast I ran it, by the way. It was just fun, so I decided to post it. | ||

| I slept about 7 hours last night, though I kept waking up thinking about college choices, so it doesn't really count as that much. And for any of you wondering, I'm going to Williams (unless I change my mind within the next 12 hours or so). I've been stressing out a lot about this decision the past few days and therefore I haven't really gotten enough sleep or done much homework. But now the decision's made so I can go back to thinking about other things. yay. | ||
| C • Congrats on your decision! :) 6 | ||

800 m warm-up including 4 x striders 3 x Broken 500 (300s in 0:54, 0:55, 0:54; 200s in 0:35, 0:34, 0:33) 700 m cool down I'm not sure why our workout today was so short. I was expecting 20 x 200, but some people are still hurt and it was very cold and rainy, so I guess my coach changed his mind.

| Since it was so warm and sunny out, someone came up with amazing idea of running to Green Lake and going swimming on the way back. Since we're going to have a hard workout tomorrow and some people are still hurt, my coach was perfectly happy with us doing this for our workout. So, I ran to Green Lake with Natalie, Marjorie, Catherine R., and Claire. On the way back, we met up with Madeline, Clarkie, Lydia, Drew, Max, and Holly at Haller Lake where we went swimming for a while. I ran back the long way since Drew, Max, and Holly had run the short way to get there. It was an amazingly fun run with a mix of track, cross country, and orienteering people. yay! This was probably the most fun track practice ever.
(According to google maps, it's 3.6 miles from Lakeside to Green Lake and an extra 0.4 miles by going to the entrance to Haller Lake and back along the way.)
| Swimming 10:00 [3] | ||
| I swam a tiny bit, but mostly treaded water to keep from freezing in Haller Lake. It was very refreshing. | ||
