Kayak 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Epic K1 Legacy M

Early arvo paddle with Rob D. Did a loop in Patterson River. Ridiculously windy with a super strong tide. I got spun around entering the main flow heading back out of the gates but nailed it second time around! Time is a total guesstimate as I didn't have a GPS, watch, phone, car, etc.

Wednesday Oct 26, 2011 #

Run 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)

From Fairhaven to the Moggs Creek lookout, down the steep single track, then back along the beach with a very high tide.

Tuesday Oct 25, 2011 #

Run 36:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:00 / km)

Run from Fairhaven along the ridge to the phone tower and back.

Monday Oct 24, 2011 #

Ride 1:12:40 [3] 27.0 km (2:41 / km)

To Dandenong and back. Lots of rain, and tracks were muddy.

Thursday Oct 20, 2011 #

Run 1:37:25 [3] 14.2 km (6:52 / km)

Run straight after getting home from my exam in Brisbane Forest Park. Did my really hilly Enoggra Dam loop. Managed to run it all.

Wednesday Oct 19, 2011 #

Ride 1:22:15 [3] 33.0 km (2:30 / km)
shoes: Merida 96 WEAPON

River loop. Windy.

Tuesday Oct 18, 2011 #

Run 46:20 [3] 8.4 km (5:31 / km)

Few hills around home.

Sunday Oct 16, 2011 #

Ride 1:12:30 [3] 11.0 km (6:35 / km)
shoes: Merida 96 WEAPON

Ride with Dave and Craig at Parklands - apparently it's real organic Sunshine Coast riding. It was all technical / really rough single track. Good fun though and although I wasn't at my best (I was a bit scrappy) I didn't come off at all so was happy. Bit shorter than I expected but it was very hot and humid.

Saturday Oct 15, 2011 #

Run 55:40 [3] 10.5 km (5:18 / km)

Ran to Indooroopilly to pick up the car. Dave left after me on rollerblades! Decided to run back once I got there and Dave drove back.

Kayak 20:00 [3]
shoes: K1 Ergo

I'd forgotten how hard the ergo was.

Thursday Oct 13, 2011 #

Ride 2:03:45 [3] 36.0 km (3:26 / km)
shoes: Merida 96 WEAPON

Loop through Gap Creek then home up Highwood Rd Tk. Had to stop twice to lube up the inner parts of my front brake - very annoying but it's going in for a brake service tonight so should be good for it's next ride.

Kayak 1:12:24 [3] 10.4 km (6:58 / km)
shoes: Epic K1 Legacy M

First 7.4 kms with a tennis ball resistance. Paddled it quite conservatively and had no issues. Felt awesome once it came off!

Run 29:30 [3] 5.5 km (5:22 / km)

Short hilly arvo loop around the parks and streets.

Tuesday Oct 11, 2011 #

Ride 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Spin bike

Spin bike session. 9 x 3min hard, 2min easy. Not my best session.

Run 26:55 [3] 4.9 km (5:30 / km)

Short cruisy loop from home through the hillier parks and streets.

Monday Oct 10, 2011 #

Kayak 1:05:55 [3] 10.7 km (6:10 / km)
shoes: Epic K1 Legacy M

5 big laps. Had to share the lake again with a heap of school kids - it's really not big enough for all of us.

Run 1:01:00 [3] 11.0 km (5:33 / km)

Toohey Forest loop. Bit hot but a bit faster than the other day.

Sunday Oct 9, 2011 #

Kayak 1:06:30 [3] 10.3 km (6:27 / km)
shoes: Epic K1 Legacy M

Late morning paddle with Dave after watching the Kona IM. Did 5 laps - first one with a tennis ball on. Paddled it really well but it took the whole next lap to feel good again. Bit up and down for the rest with long turnarounds.

Ride 1:42:00 [3] 30.0 km (3:24 / km)
shoes: Merida 96 WEAPON

Arvo ride with Dave over to Gap Creek to carve up some single track for the first time since stacking it. Heaps of fun and I didn't seem to be suffering any I'll effects from being off them for so long. Not tentative as I expected either. I'm still a bit tentative on the really fast but scetchy downhills though.

Friday Oct 7, 2011 #

Ride 1:20:45 [3] 33.5 km (2:25 / km)
shoes: Merida 96 WEAPON

River loop.

Thursday Oct 6, 2011 #

Kayak 1:07:05 [3] 10.4 km (6:27 / km)
shoes: Epic K1 Legacy M

Paddle in the rain at Springfield Lakes. Did the first 3.3pm with one tennis ball resistance. Not too bad but took extra time at the turn arounds.

Run 1:01:20 [3] 11.0 km (5:35 / km)

Toohey Forest loop. Tracks very wet and it poured with rain for the second half. 2min25 PB round this loop.

Wednesday Oct 5, 2011 #

Kayak 1:04:20 [3] 10.4 km (6:11 / km)
shoes: Epic K1 Legacy M

5 big laps. Had the lake to myself for a change. Feeling better each paddle and speed seemed to improve each lap.

Ride 1:23:00 [3] 33.5 km (2:29 / km)
shoes: Merida 96 WEAPON

River loop.

Monday Oct 3, 2011 #

Kayak 1:00:00 [3] 9.5 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Epic K1 Legacy M

Morning paddle at Springfield Lake with Olympic K4 medallist Amanda Rankin. I had her covered for strength and speed for sure... Very surprised to get down to the Lake and see a school group on there in canoes. I thought I was only one who ever paddled there. Amanda was running the group in her bath tub with a conventional paddle so I think I would have had her covered, maybe.

I felt much better than Saturday, I just feel a bit weak. Distance is approximate as I forgot my GPS.

Ride 2:25:00 [3] 37.0 km (3:55 / km)
shoes: Merida 96 WEAPON

Met Liam at the end of Payne Rd in The Gap and rode East Boundary Tk to Mt Nebo (~22km) then up to Mt Glorious on the road. Very much an uphill ride all the way although it does undulate a bit. Solid pace.

Trek 5:20:30 [3] 27.0 km (11:52 / km)

Stashed the bikes in the bush and headed off on foot. Walked single track, then up the first climb to a high peak with awesome views over Fernvale and Wivenhoe Dam. We then bashed down a very steep descent back to a track, then up to another peak with not so good views but still worth the climb. We then bashed back down and into an awesome creek / gorge (Norwood Creek) and walked along there for about an hour. The water was apparently very low but we still got quite wet. We then walked straight up a fire trail which climbed about 600m then back along the single track to find our bikes. Really tough trek but some awesome views and waterways.

Ride 2:28:15 [3] 48.0 km (3:05 / km)
shoes: Merida 96 WEAPON

Back the same way as we rode out until we reached the top of Gap Creek. Down Quail Trail and out to Greenwood Rd where we met Dave. Dropped Liam off at Chapel Hill and rode home. Much faster ride than the way out with some loose scetchy downhills. Great day out and survived well.

Run 42:30 [3] 7.8 km (5:27 / km)

Morning run after 19 hours in the car yesterday with sub-optimal nutrition... Felt very average and took two time-outs along the way.

Kayak 45:15 [3] 6.9 km (6:33 / km)
shoes: Epic K1 Legacy M

First paddle back in quite some time - with Dave at Springfield Lakes. Felt 'at one' with the boat immediately after getting in. Having protected the use of my right pec for 13 weeks it was obviously very weak and tired quickly. Just tapped things along with short breaks at each turn, apart from two short pick-ups which felt good. No pain at all.
