Ride 2:41:30 [3] 75.3 km (2:09 / km)
slept:10.5 shoes: Giant TCR One (road)

Planned to get out at 7am but didn't get on the road till just after 11am. Rode Nepean Hwy and The Esplanade with Dave to Safety Beach and back. Some good undulations along the entire ride, and rode them well considering the lack of hill rides that I've been doing lately. Time to flake out on the couch now and get settled for the tennis.

Run 40:00 [3]
slept:7.0 shoes: Nike Zoom Elite

Dave was doing an ocean ski race at Eastern Beach, Geelong so filled the time in trying to keep up on the run. Ran super hard for the first straight (gravel tracks, bluestone paths and single uphill track), but couldn't keep up with his straight line. Filled in some time when the paddlers went offshore doing a couple of stair reps and a couple of hill reps. Ran hard again for the final dog leg. Had a few rests in between because I needed them. It was more like an interval session!

Other (Stand Up Paddle Board) 10:00 [3]

Had a go at this because it looked awesome and there was a spare board for people like me. It involves standing on a board similar to a wind surfing board and using an outrigger's paddle with a long shaft on it. Started off a bit shakey but got used to it and did a small loop. I might have to put it on my 'Birthday Wish List'.

Other (Tennis) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite

Gave Dave a bit of a lesson in the art of tennis on Mum and Dad's tennis court. We've been keen for a hit after watching two weeks of the Australian Open. I think the Frechman, Tsonga models his game on mine. Many simalarities :)

Run 33:00 [3]
slept:9.0 shoes: Nike Zoom Elite

Slept in till 11am after a late night last night so only had time for a quick run. Ran a lap of Patterson River. Tried to run a bit harder, needed a quick stretch at the top end though. Had an old guy on a bike sit behind me for a bit. He then rode passed me and said I was running at 13km/h. Not sure whether I believe him but I'll claim it anyway.

Ride 1:58:00 [3]
slept:11.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Bike tracks and Beach Road to Black Rock and back. Did a couple of extra kms at the end to check out some road works near home. Rode to the Marina via McLeod Road then back along the river. Nice day for it. Should have taken a drink though.

Run 46:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite

After a quick 15 minute transition from the bike ran the Kananook Creek Trail to a bit passed Seaford and back. Felt average until about the last 10 minutes. New shoes were really good - they look awesome too!

Ride 1:45:00 [3]
slept:6.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Rode bike tracks out to Josh's house to say hello and pick up my shiney new Nike runners. Very nice. Rode hard for the majority and felt quite good. Had to keep the pressure on to get there in time to not keep Dave waiting ... beat him by 30 minutes! Don't seem to be sore at all from yesterday's run.

Ride 1:05:00 [3]
slept:6.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Rode bike tracks to Dandenong then a bit of road out to Hallam for tonights Street-O. Should have been a shorter easier ride if it weren't for the killer head and side wind. A couple of time the wind caught me unaware on the looser gravel and slid the front wheel sideways - freaky. Lucky I was on my heavier bike!

Run (Street-O) 46:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Kayano 13

Evening Street-O at Hallam. Did the B course having to get 15 of the 20 controls. Didn't really have a good look at the course till about 2/3's of the way through. Not ideal I know but worked out okay, could have made one better selection I think, but put an extra hill in to work on a bit of leg strength (not intentionally). Ran not too badly considering the last 4 months of almost nil running training. May be sore in the quads in the morning.
