Ride (D.I.S. Training Day) 2:52:00 [3] 39.0 km (4:25 / km) +1750m 3:36 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: Giant XTC Team

Early morning drive out to the D.I.S. with Dave and Josh to meet Rob P and Kathryn at Traralgon. Parked the cars in the bush somewhere about 15kms north of the main highway and unloaded the bikes. A mid sized Tiger Snake slithered off from underneath Josh's bike, scary! Rode down for a bit then pushed up for a bit. Cruised along until we arrived in Walhalla via a few ups and downs. Felt pretty strong the whole way.

Run (D.I.S. Training Day) 44:00 [3] 8.0 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 13

Locked the bikes up and ran along a trail which ran along the Thompsons River for 20 minutes then turned around and ran back. Trail was reasonably flat and a little overgrown. Time and distances are approximate.

Ride (D.I.S. Training Day) 2:05:00 [3] 50.0 km (2:30 / km)
shoes: Giant XTC Team

Rode back to the cars via an old rail trail, then dropped down to Coopers Pass (?). Had a decent climb out of here where I bonked. Stopped and drank all of Rob's sport's drink which I had been carrying all day, and recovered quite quickly. Got back to the cars in about 1hr5min and 15kms. Met Dave and Kathryn who agreed to drive the cars into Traralgon so we could ride down the road, which was generally downhill. Sat on the back while Josh and Rob swapped turns on the front. Pace was fast! Attacked with a couple of kms to go, but didn't last too long. Again, time and distance is approximate.

Ride 3:04:00 [3] 71.0 km (2:35 / km) +1850m 2:18 / km
slept:6.5 shoes: Giant TCR One (road)

Morning ride in the Dandenongs with Dave, Wal, Ged, Ben and Wal's dad. Did a 35km loop finishing with The Wall (23.22), got beaten by Dave and Wal. Spun the bike around and did the same loop in reverse which was a fair bit tougher.

Ride 2:10:00 [3] 48.0 km (2:43 / km) +777m 2:30 / km
slept:5.5 shoes: Crusty Merida

Afternoon ride out to Mt Eliza with Dave, then 2 reps up each hill. Over-cooked the legs on the 2nd last climb trying to get up it in too big a gear, but recovered for the next one okay. Flatted with a km to go.

Ride 1:38:00 [3] 40.0 km (2:27 / km)
slept:5.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Rode bike tracks and back roads out to Dave's work to get a lift to tonight's Street-O. Got attacked by a Killer Magpie coming through Rowville which was coming straight for me. I stopped and it veered up at the last minute. Luckily it got distracted after only two attempted swoops by two kids on BMX and went for them - they had a stick but it still managed to land on one's head. Funny because it wasn't me.

Run race (Street-O) 58:15 [4] 10.81 km (5:23 / km)
shoes: Nike Zoom Elite

Street-O at Nunawading with Dave. Irish Mark and Jodie also turned up. Was doing well early but hadn't read the instructions so didn't realise the controls were worth different amounts. Got all bar the 1 most southern ones, but my last 3 were quite untidy with 3 out and backs. Not bad considering I was only planning one control at a time. Heaps of fun and got back with just under 2 minutes to spare.

Run 40:00 [3] 7.2 km (5:33 / km)

Quick cruisy run to Seaford and back. Legs were a bit flat from a couple of hard efforts over the weekend. Got quite cold and wet after being caught out in a quick shower.
