Kayak 1:00:00 [1] 6.5 km (9:14 / km)
shoes: K1

Christmas Lights paddle with Dave, Nat and Derek. I paddled my old K1 for it's annual paddle to get the dust off. Was an awesome, clear, warm, still night. The lights were impressive, however there were about 25 other fishing boats on the water with us also checking out the lights.

Kayak 1:24:30 [3] 18.4 km (4:36 / km)
slept:6.0

Drove the double ski down to the boat ramp at Mornington. Set the GPS and headed back to Carrum. This was my first true downwind 'expedition' (other than support boating at Molokai) so I was a little excited. Kept following the arrow on the GPS, and got a number of fairly decents runs. Only issue was steering the boat with the super loose steering I've got set up for the Murray, and the seat foam we have which boosts us up a couple of inches - probably not ideal for the bay swell / wind chop. Good fun, and looking forward to getting our new double Red 7 ...

Ride 50:00 [3] 22.8 km (2:12 / km)
shoes: Giant TCR One (road)

Got home after the paddle, and warmed up after a shower. Then headed out on the road bikes back to Mornington to pick up the car. The headwind was decent so immediately jumped on Dave's wheel and stayed there for most of the ride apart from the uphill sections, where I tried to give him a little break. Legs felt pretty good, especially with a bit of an effort in the last few kilometres. Bumped into the other crew from work at Mornington and busted them bludging by the water.

Kayak 56:45 [4] 10.8 km (5:15 / km)
slept:7.0

Afternoon paddle on the double ocean ski with Dave. Worked hard to catch up to Cam, Couttsy and the juinior boys for the first 3 kms. Then joined in with their session - 6 x 2mins / 1min rest, 10 x 1min / 1min rest. Quite hard, and I was spent after each effort, all the anaerobic parts of me hurt! As it turns out, I needed a river and a half width to turn the boat.

Ride 1:25:00 [3] 33.0 km (2:35 / km)
slept:10.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Rode bike tracks out to Ferntree Gully to pick the car and Dave up. Started out with reasonably heavy rain, then was quite a pleasant ride.

Ride 1:07:00 [3] 25.0 km (2:41 / km)
slept:10.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Jumped on road and into the headwind to Moorabbin, where I met Dave at the bike shop. He picked up his brand new Trek Fuel (warranty) frame, I can't believe how light it is for a dually! Still feel a little fatigued at a high intensity.

Kayak 57:30 [3] 9.8 km (5:52 / km)

Spent a good hour this afternoon cutting out foam to put into the seats for the double Ocean Ski we're paddling down the Murray. It jacks them up a bit and adds a little cushioning. Headed out to trial them with Dave straight into the bay and into the headwind for 5 kilometres. Saw a few jumping fish, and had a bit of fun on the way back in. Seat still needs some work, but was okay, the extra height probably wasn't ideal for the bay either.
