Note
slept:9.0

Didn't do anything loggable today, but played about 2 hours of tennis despite the very heavy rain. We dried off by the time we finished so it wasn't a problem - the balls got pretty heavy though. Good fun, and we won!

Run 2:53:00 [3] 27.0 km (6:24 / km) +764m 5:37 / km
slept:5.5 shoes: Nike Zoom Elite

5am start to drive down to Torquay so Dave could hit the surf for 'dawn patrol'. I decided surfing wasn't for me so left Dave with my brother and drove to Anglesea. Made the run up as I went heading in a general west direction. Ran on some really nice trails including Pipeline Tk which had knee deep puddles on it. It was a fair challenge to get around them. Tunred around and came back a similar way. I was about an hour from the car when the rain started to come down really hard. One track in particular got so greasy that I was losing about 10cm with each step. Four Jeep Wranglers passed me also struggling to stay on the track in 4WD mode - they were sliding off with the camber of the track. Made it back to Torquay just in time for pancakes which Matthew had cooked, nice.

Note

Had some dodgey drinking yougurt at work. Not sure if I'm going to be able to keep it down, we'll see ....

Ride 2:05:30 [3] 43.0 km (2:55 / km) +735m 2:41 / km
slept:10.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Had to meet Dave out at Bayswater so rode the Eastlink track. Head wind the whole way and suffered a bit carrying a heavy pack. The rain was coming down quite heavily as I left so taped over the holes in my helmet with packing tape to keep my head dry. I think it's supposed to make me faster too ...

Ride 3:23:00 [3] 79.0 km (2:34 / km) +847m 2:26 / km
slept:5.5 shoes: Crusty Merida

Rushed home from work to get out the door asap. Rode reasonably hard out to Bayswater on bike tracks and roads to meet Dave. We then rode home via the Eastlink track to make it into a big loop. Felt quite strong the whole way.

Ride 51:00 [3] 18.0 km (2:50 / km) +248m 2:39 / km
slept:10.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Rode out to the top of Mt Eliza and chained the bike to a tree at the top of the Quarry Reserve. Then did a quick change into my runners and packed the bike shoes away.

Run 53:30 [3] 8.0 km (6:41 / km) +320m 5:34 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 13

Ran directly down to the bottom and across to the southern reserve. Did a loop in there and then ran back to my bike via the steep 'Quarry Track'. There were plenty of stairs and I was spent at the top.

Ride 41:00 [3] 18.0 km (2:17 / km)
shoes: Crusty Merida

Back on the bike for the mostly downhill ride home. It was then a mad rush to get to work on time ...

Ride 2:11:30 [3] 42.5 km (3:06 / km) +637m 2:53 / km
slept:10.0 shoes: Crusty Merida

Rode back roads to the Mt Eliza top shops then over to the top of the Quarry Reserve. Rode stealth down the 'no bikes' trail to the bottom. Wasn't that good because of the amount of stairs. Then rode over to the network of tracks furhter south where no one ever goes. Stuffed around in there a bit then had to head back home. Accidently ended up at the botom of Two Bays Road again so had to ride back up, then all roads home. Good morning ride, I'll have to spend more time out there.
