6hr Cyclogaine out at Spicers Hidden Vale (1hr west of our place). Planned a long route anti-clockwise picking up most controls, however reversed the loop when it became obvious that there was minimal water on the course and therefore picking up the water control at about the 3hr mark vs the 30min mark. The loop took about 4hr20min before we headed into the single track area. It was much slower going but there were plenty of points to pick up in a small proximity. The nav was a little trickier and we made a few parallel errors (one of which I'm blaming the map). Dave rode really well and looked very smart in his new jersey! I had a very flat spot at the 4hr mark and a crash on a sketchy downhill at 4hr10min. I think our 2 week training camp in the French Alps and Pyrenees paid off as we won the event overall, despite a couple of mistakes and feeling flat energy wise a couple of times.

Run to and from the canoe club with Dave. Enjoyed a quick swim in the pool upon our return.

Paddle in my K1 for the first time for a while. Settled in quickly, and just cruised up the Brisbane River and back with Dave (with one tennis ball as resistance). Won the sprint to the power line, but I have a feeling Dave gave it to me for my efforts.

Morning run again to the river towards the city. Felt better than yesterday but still not great. I'm putting it down to me not being a morning person yet.

Did another loop the same as yesterday up and around Mt Coot-tha (12.54mins). Felt average to begin with, but came good reasonably quickly.

Got the pool converted to salt water today, it's almost time to start swimming in it now ....

Early morning run with Dave after waking (and staying awake - probably a combination of jet-lag and a 2.5 hour power nap yesterday evening) at 4am. DId my normal lap with a bit extra, plus 5 assisted chin ups included half way at some bars down at the river. Felt average, probably due to not eating much since yesterday lunch time.

The bikes finally arrived back from France today after getting left behind somewhere. Cruisy ride out to Mt Coot-tha, then a lap up (13.21) and around then cruised back. Got rained on and it felt like a head wind the whole way, however it was good to be riding in just knicks and a jersey in late July.
