Run 40:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Nike Structure 12

My GPS ran out of batteries finding satellites so time and distance are rough. I had instructions to go for a trial run to see if my achilles was going any better and was to stop as soon as I felt pain. We were at Fairhaven so I walked up the steep hill to the ridge then started running. I got about 5 steps before the pain started so cracked it and ran back down the hill heading for home. It felt good by the bottom so did a loop around the streets. It was still good so walked back up to the ridge and ran along it to where I could see where the optional CP was for the Keen race last year. Ran back still with no pain. Both sides were slightly sore the next day at differs times.

Kayak 1:05:00 [3] 9.0 km (7:13 / km)

Headed out into the bay from my parents house in Bonbeach up to the Patterson River. Did the 6km loop in there and came back. I was in my dad's super sea kayak, and Wal was on his plastic ski. I was struggling to reach the pedals, but it didn't really matter in this weapon. Was a lovely morning out, but the intensity was solid to keep this machine going.

Kayak 59:45 [3] 10.0 km (5:59 / km)
shoes: K1 - Nelo Scorpion

Early morning paddle with Dave. Did 5 x 5 min'ers @80% with the last minute @ 95%. I'm starting to find that the 80% bits are getting easier, but anything higher than that is a bit of a struggle. Used my good paddle today which is 4cm longer than my old one. I definitely noticed the difference.

Kayak 1:12:00 [3] 12.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: K1 - Nelo Scorpion

Dave and I were too tired this morning to get up early after watching the live streaming of the World Kayak Champs last night. I went down mid morning and paddled up Oxley Creek and did: 5 min warm-up, then 4 x 10 @ 80% with 5 min recovery paddle in between. Did a 12 min warm-down to get back to the Canoe Club. My left shoulder felt tight for the first half until I got out at a pontoon and stretched it a bit. Other that that it was a good paddle - intensity not as high when Coach Provan's not around though.
