Spent the day up the Sunshine Coast and did the run leg of the Mooloolaba Triathlon in a corporate team with Chris Bennett and Peta Wait. Course was running along the Esplanade over Alexandra Heads three times on a 1.5 loop course. Felt pretty good and ran a 12 year 10km PB so I was very happy (although far from gazelle-like) particularly on a very windy day. Great to be part of the event which is MASSIVE, and cool running through the finishes tunnel with the elites setting up for their race. We finished 7th in our corporate teams category.

Dawn paddle with Dave and Kate. Kate was running late so I waited and jumped on the water a little later than Dave. With the 2km laps I did 4kms at about 80%, 2km at about 70%. It was a bit undisciplined so the efforts became a little blurred. Jumped on Dave's wash on occasion to get a bit of a lift. I sat one lap out as my new seat is worse than the old and my butt is red raw again :-( I can easily replace it onto the rails though so all should be good soon.

Ran to the Oxley Creek oval and back. Faster than intended. Surprisingly felt okay on the way home.

shoes: Nike Structure 14

Intervals on the bike track from one end the other around the oval. Distance was about 690m. Did one way then came back the opposite - the even ones felt more downhill hence the slightly quicker times. Did them on 5mins so about 2mins walk break in-between.

Morning run in the heat. Did a western river loop in my new shoes and drink waist belt which arrived this morning. I love running in brand new shoes! Felt comfortable the whole way around.

shoes: Giant TCR One (road)

Late arvo Mt Coot-tha loop [12.02]. I just hit the bottom on the way back and hit a hole in the road that I didn't see because of the sun - pinch flatted and made my speedo magnet thing come loose. Took about 15mins to replace the tube as my spare was too big for the tyre so took some coercing to get it in there. Good times.

Morning river loop on the road bike. Did a second half loop to UQ and over the bridge. Bit of a stop start ride with several road work / stop - go men, plus morning traffic. Need to spend more time on the road bike, but riding it better than I expected after my last ride on this bike.

Bay was calm enough to launch from Bonbeach and paddled one km up to the Patterson River river mouth. Then did a loop minus up to the fwy. Just tried to paddle consistently. A bit of wind had picked up by the time I paddled back out of the river. Luckily it was offshore.
