A rough week.

Tuesday Nov 13

strength & stretching 40:00 [3]
TNT - the usual crowd.

Sandy A and I stayed in and did the core DVD while the others went and ran. The core workout is good and since I've decided to take some time off running to give my knees a break it's definitely better than the alternative which would have been nothing.

Sunday Nov 11

orienteering 1:07:41 [3]
DVOA local event - Ridley Long Courses

Fun day at Ridley which is highly unusual - not my favorite park. But I did Brown since it was only 5.1 and I wasn't prepared for any more. It was mostly a route choice course with a few pockets of detailed orienteering and Clem kept us out of most of the green. Messed up in a few places but overall a good enough run for first on Brown. Probably ran more than I have in weeks.

Note
Knees pretty sore tonight but icing has helped.

Saturday Nov 10

Note
Lots more sleeping today!

Friday Nov 9

Note
Skipped TNT last night which I haven't done before. I've missed it when I've had other obligations, but I've never skipped and not had something else to do. Fell asleep on the couch at 7, woke up at 8 and went to bed at 8:30 and woke up this morning at 7:30. I don't feel sick but I do feel exhausted.
C • Well 3

Wednesday Nov 7

Note
Still pretty exhausted. And I'm having some sort of allergic reaction or other problem with my eyelids which is very annoying.

Tuesday Nov 6

running 48:30 [3]
TNT - tried to run with Dasha but died after a mile and a half on the drive and so turned around. Walked and jogged home. A hot dinner waiting for us prepared by Sandy A was incredible! A biggish crowd: me, Sandy, Karl, Greg, Jim, Dasha and Clem.

Monday Nov 5

Note
The weekend took its toll. I was pretty tired and drained to start and the weekend just compounded things. My knees were pretty sore by the end since I didn't stretch and ice enough over the three days.

Sunday Nov 4

orienteering race 1:25:22 [3]
OK outing in that I didn't make any major errors but I had no energy at all. Hesitated in several places but always figured out what was going on - so while I didn't spike all the controls, I didn't totally mess any up either.

Day 2 Green Y - Splits

Saturday Nov 3

orienteering race 1:28:10 [3]
Not a great run. Fine through the first 4 controls and then I let people in the woods distract me. Botched #5 - drifted left and stood there in the indistinct green trying to sort it out and couldn't - and had to relocate. After that, got pretty sloppy so lost a little bit on every control even though I knew where I was.

Day 1 Green Y - Splits

Friday Nov 2

Event: US Champs

Note
Manned the results table at the sprints. Had decided a while ago not to compete in the sprint.
C • Thanks! 2
