Yay! An actual orienteering course. Pretty clean - a few hesitations and not always the best line - but always knew where I was and happy enough with my routes choices. The conditions were excellent - nice and sunny and not too cold and the couple inches of snow actually seemed to make for better footing.

Knee pretty bad right after I finished and took off my brace but much better now. My legs are really sore though - all the climbing in and out of gullies and creek beds took its toll.

Part of the blue course for tomorrow's QOC event with Valerie - deliberately taking the up and down straight routes. A good start to my rogaine training but can already tell I'll be sore tomorrow.

Morning snowshoe in the Wissahickon - it was a lot of work and I had no energy. Heart pounding, sweating like crazy even with no gloves or hat. Felt like just sitting down at one point but kept on slogging.

More snow shoveling. Arms and back sore. The 6-8 predicted turned into more than a foot so still a good bit to do in the morning not to mention shoveling out the car. But had to get in to school which opened for classes at 1. Surprisingly had very good attendance.

I want a garage. I wonder if I could get a variance to build one in my back yard. The garage wouldn't be the problem - the driveway to get to it would.

Shoveled the walks right before going to bed. There was already about 8" and that's all that was predicted so even though it was still snowing I figured this would get most of and not leave much for the morning.

So I have a potential rogaine partner. Now I just need a rogaine that fits the schedule and a plan to start doing some much longer hikes to get ready.

A very cold morning hike in the Wissahickon. There were slabs of ice in lots of places making it slow going. And wiping the tears (my eyes tear like crazy in the cold weather) got painful as my gloves got wet and froze and were no longer soft after about 20 minutes. But I was dressed properly and was toasty warm. I probably looked like a blimp, but I was warm!

A good yoga class. It seemed slower paced but still required lots of effort.
