orienteering 1:20:55 [3] 7.6 km (10:39 / km)

Norristown Farm Park, 7.6 km course - President's cup so a few twists: 4 memory-o controls and a 4 control score-o window. Ran some, walked more. Was bringing up the rear for a while as I made a detour to the pavilion between 1 and 2 to ditch my jacket; it was so cold starting that I thought I would need it, but after 1 control made the right decision to take it off. Then just kept slogging and eventually caught a few people. Between the snow - just a few inches - and the corn fields, lots of uneven ground and slipping around so a great workout. My hat came off on some prickers at one point and so I started carrying it and ended up using it for my nose which was a softer alternative than my sleeve or gloves. Icicles in my hair when I finished, so definitely working hard and sweating. Half my buff was iced solid as well. Great fun. Thanks, Vadim!

Not quite the whole core dvd - needed to take a phone call part way through the last bit a few rounds into the "now both arms and both legs" bit - but figured the snow shoveling, which was more like water soaked slush shoveling, that I did first would make up the difference.

Since I only walked last night at TNT I decided to do my regular loop today. I don't like running in the cold but it wasn't too bad. I don't usually wear headphones when I run, but I did today and it helped. I probably would have gone even slower without something to distract me.

I was doing really well on my quest to lose some weight, but this has been a bad week and I've gone backwards. Phooey.

TNT - Some walk/jog action on the drive with Sandy.
Walked down to the drive, did a mile (no split), walked half (7:20), jogged half (4:46), walked half (7:46), jogged half (5:15), hiked back up, jogging the road section on Cathedral.

Clem and Karl there for dinner which was Karl's Manhattan clam chowder. Mm, mm, good!

Yoga. A lot of stretching and not much strength. Oh well, needed a good stretch.
