Decided to do the Red course at Batsto figuring it was the same distance as the Short Stumble and I survived that. Made a couple of errors. On the way to #5 passed over a ditch that I was going to use as an attackpoint and never saw it and had trouble relocating. That was at least 5 minutes. The other errors were all smaller just not really able to stay on a good bearing since the blueberries were tough to push through. Pleased with my route choices though - a mix of trails and just gritting my teeth and plowing into the bushes and going straight. Really nice course and an absolutely beautiful day.
Week 1 of the plan went reasonably well. I have lost 3 pounds of the 20 I want to lose. The first 5 shouldn't be too hard but it will get much tougher after that. I also exercised all but two days and even those days I did my morning toe raises and knee bends. So I'm feeling like at least things are going in the right direction.

1/2 mile jog on the drive and then 200 paces of jogging on the road when I got to the trailhead. Happy that the heart rate and speed both confirm that I was working harder during those sections. I go so slowly that I sometimes wonder.
Not a good day. Visit to the dentist and so a half numb face for most of the day. Then some things at work that I should totally be able to blow off but for some reason really got to me. Ah well, so it goes.

Up and down the three half flights of stairs in my house. I didn't have anything loaded on my mp3 player that I wanted to listen to so I did this without any entertainment. I think 20 minutes is about all I can do of these without something to distract me. Did some trying to run up the stairs and some double stairs but mostly just plain since it's been quite a while since I've done these and didn't want to overdo it.
