12 PM

hiking 3:04:50 [3] 8.15 mi (22:41 / mi) +237m 20:48 / mi

Three times around the meadow loop with side trips on the first two down to the drive and back up. I was worried my back would start to hurt so wanted to stay close so I could bail at any time. Started to feel a few twinges about halfway through the third loop so skipped the trip down to the drive and called it a day. Luckily, the twinges never got any worse so I'm calling this a success.

hiking 53:02 [3] 2.88 mi (18:25 / mi) +88m 16:49 / mi

Meadow loop with Sandy on a beautiful day. One of our faster outings that involved no running.

Thursday Aug 31 #

strength & stretching 45:00 [3]

Made up for last night's easy training with a tough workout with Kelly.

Wednesday Aug 30 #

Yoga/Pilates 1:00:00 [3]

I'm sure only 10 minutes or so of this could be called "training" but I made the time and went to an hour class so I'm claiming the whole hour. It turned out that several of the people there thought it was a different class (they switched times between the this class and a more gentle one that now starts later) so the instructor modified ours. I'm hoping that next week is a little more active.

Tuesday Aug 29 #

strength & stretching 45:00 [3]

Workout with Kelly. Back still a little iffy but not too bad; only a few things I decided I shouldn't do.

Monday Aug 28 #

4 PM

hiking 55:34 [3] 2.89 mi (19:14 / mi) +84m 17:39 / mi

Meadow loop after 5 hours of pruning, sawing, weeding and generally cleaning up the mess that is my yard.

Back still a little sore from Saturday but legs feel fine.
