Despite stopping and sitting and eating at about an hour 45, my knee was not happy the last two miles. Grrrr.... I thought I had figured that out. :(

Park pretty crowded again today. Lots of parents with kids and elderly people walking in twos and threes. And a handful of high school students. Just so strange see all these folks on the trails. It's a good thing but unusual. I wonder how long it will last.

A short session in my basement after a couple of hours of yard work.

Note

Any recommendations for on-line workouts (preferably free but I'd consider purchasing something)? I don't want to go to the classes at the gym and I'm getting tired of the Core DVD. But I'm really bad at coming up with my own workout!

Stroll in the Wiss on a beautiful day. So many people out - guess lots of folk are looking for things to do that are not indoors.

Note

And the university just announced that classes are cancelled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and that we are on-line starting on Thursday through mid-April at which point things will be reassessed.

I had already decided not to go to the gym today.

I think DVOA should cancel/postpone the national event scheduled for March 21-22 but I haven't heard anything that makes me think it is even being discussed. But I'm pretty much out of the loop of decision making in DVOA so perhaps it's going on and I just don't know about it.

Note

I'm currently teaching one class at SJU and we're also currently on spring break. I just spent all morning gearing up to go on-line starting next week. Right now we're supposed to meet Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in person and then use Thursday and Friday to test our on-line readiness.

I imagine if Philadelphia gets any new cases by the weekend - and frankly I'm surprised we haven't had more already - then SJU will just go on-line starting right away. I'm wondering if I should just go fully on-line starting Monday and not worry about the if/when scenarios.

hiking 1:40:39 intensity: (5:19 @1) + (22:46 @2) + (50:23 @3) + (21:35 @4) + (36 @5) 3.48 mi (28:55 / mi) +344m 22:08 / mi

Hill repeats. A good bit slower than last time but I had on my weighted pack. They didn't seem especially hard in that I was out of breath or my legs were sore, I just couldn't go any faster.

strength & stretching 57:33 intensity: (2:58 @0) + (27:45 @1) + (18:13 @2) + (7:49 @3) + (48 @4) 0.75 mi (1:16:44 / mi)

Class at the gym. Did a lot of arm stuff while laying down which made it a lot easier so I used 5lb weights. Lunges on the other hand were a bit of a struggle as my legs had little oomph.

Was surprised that the class was normal size; no one seem panicked by the coronavirus epidemic although a lot of people were wiping off the weights they were going to use (including me) before class. They have hand sanitizer dispensers right outside the room and many more people seemed to be using them.
