A really nice hike around the Gould Run map at Hickory Run. Some really great views out over the Lehigh River. There are some tough uphills and slippery downhills on those trails but I finished just as I was getting tired and stumbling a bit and thinking I needed to be a little more careful so I didn't trip and hurt myself.

I'm glad I didn't try to do the Crooked Compass yesterday. I cancelled when the plan was to drive to Birmingham right after Thanksgiving since I wasn't sure it would work out schedule-wise and I didn't want to stress about it. Then when what I thought would be a routine eye exam turned into a major deal I had to postpone my trip to Birmingham so I could have done the Crooked Compass but I'm glad I didn't try. My hike today showed me I am in no condition to have done even the bare minimum of the Crooked Compass and still be enjoying it.

My eye issues are not resolved unfortunately although the worst case scenario (brain tumor) has been ruled out. Next up a visit to a specialist in Philadelphia but the urgency of everything has been dialed way down and my trip to Birmingham rescheduled to coincide with a drive down to visit Valerie and go to a QOC event at Prince William.

Note

Oof, I'm tired. It was an HOA work day and I blew leaves with a gas-powered leaf blower for about 3 hours. Pretty easy work really, but my arms and shoulders are worn out. We were trimming back mostly rhododendron from where it had grown out over one of the roads in the development. It's a long winding road with only one house at the very end so the road doesn't get any traffic and it was buried in wet soggy leaves and the rhododendrons made almost a tunnel. I go by the road all the time when I walk and always wondered what was down it. Anyway, volunteering for these work days is a fun way to get to know some of the people in the HOA.

Same workout although I added some reps and some weight. I think I like doing one workout several times so I'm going to try doing each one for a week and see how that goes. The library classes shut down for the holidays; I'll have to see if I go back to them or not in the new year.

Some jogging around the block. Not much and very slow but for whatever reason I felt like doing it today.
