Very nice morning. My goal was to keep the SR ~ 27. With the tailwind I knew pace would be a bit quick and I couldn't let that concern me. I think I did a good jpb of maintaining my SR. Pace seemed a bit all over the place and I couldn't figure out why. I executed my plan of 10 good strokes every 1000m. With 400m to go (west side of inlet on the north side) I started counting down 30 then 20 strokes. I got caught in a bit of traffic (Junior girls in singles) and told them to "Clear out! Coming through!" Matt and Pat had already plowed through them. I don't think I lost too much time -- just a bit of a distraction. My steering was so so; I was riding too close to shore and had to make too many adjustments. The slower pace in the 4th k could be do to my having to pull to starboard to clear the I35 piers.

Chest congestion continues. Dang it! Adding some mucinex to the mix.

Garmin pace data is a little funky. There are two big dips when I went under larger bridges and then an over correction on the exit. Some of the other oscillations are due to bridge receptions issues as well.

2x with Pat
18:38.349
Pat couldn't stay for the scheduled open 2x time later in the afternoon and convinced the organizers to let us row at 10:20, right after the boys 4x. We gave them a good gap and were on our own the whole way. I steered a much smoother course this time. We were pretty rushed getting off the water from the 1x and getting back out in the 2x. There was boat confusion and bib number confusion. I probably could have used some fluids and calories. Nevertheless, a decent effort in an ill fitting boat (stern was dragging).
