Row 1:30:00 [3]

D 1x
1 Pat McDonough, 4:01.8
2 Me: 4:03.7
3 Matt Knifton: 4:08.1
4 Eric Cornet: back
5 Bill Keros: farther back

Luis Prado in the previous B-C race was 4:02.6

Slow times due to a headwind. WU did not suggest I had a lot of energy. However, I gave myself a pep talk to just keep at it, whatever "it" turned out to be. Kept an eye on the starters flag and got off quick. After 15 strokes, I (in lane 6) was even with Pat to my right (in 5) and Matt farther off in (2). At 250m, put in a push, still even. At 500, push again, still even with Pat, seemed like Matt was just a touch behind. At 750 still even with Matt now behind. Began to up the effort and got ready to go hard with the last 15 strokes. However, my legs didn't answer and Pat squirted away. Pretty pleased with the result because I've don't very little race prep and spent too much time on my legs yesterday.

4x with Sebastion, Ed, Me, Luis
We had to beat the TRC boats by 3.8 and we manage 7s. We were in the too small mid/hwt boat and that made for a sloppy race. Nevertheless, we pulled it out. We could go faster though. :-)

2x with Bill Keros
Kind fo a grind. We were in back and got caught in the wake of an inattentive launch driver. Slippin' and slidin' all over. I got a good workout but we were last. Bill had a rough weekend. His technique just doesn't allow him to put much pressure into the oars yet.
