My plan was to get on the road to Austin first thing so that I would have plenty of time to avoid traffic and get in a row. However, it was supposed to continue raining all day and so I figured I wouldn't get out. Thus, I put in an erg workout before packing up. Full race WU followed by 2 min hard at 28 then another 1 min hard at 30.
Note
Just finished lunch in Waco when I got the word the Pumpkinhead was canceled. The weather is supposed to be fine tomorrow but they are concerned about flooding of Town Lake. The City of Austin closed the lake. Turned around and home by 3:30.

The rain had stopped leaving gray skies and cool temps -- perfect for me. But then the rain and wind started again and I got very wet.
Lots of pause drills. Thus, got in good technique work but also strength training. Great morning on the lake: calm, clear, full moon, lots of stars, cool temps.

I was going to go for a bike ride but then I remembered that I have Possum Trot training to do.
20 x 1 = 10 (40/20) + long steady state + 10 (30 / 30)
First round at 30-32. Second round at 32-33.
Very nice evening. Got out just before the kids so I had clean water the whole way. Pieces were hard. Harder than I would prefer. I was pulling with good pressure though so that was good. Too nice an evening to think too hard about good or bad.

Wet roads but no rain. The wheels on the aeros don't slip like the XLs -- just have to watch out for leaves or mud. Checked out some new roads in the neighborhood. Good ski.
Aggravated 4 dogs (one of the twice) and pissed off one squirrel. The latter sat up on his limb and had a little squirrel barking fit until I went away.

Short break and then met Rachel at the boathouse. We conducted boathouse business while trotting along very slowly.
Hurricane Patricia over on the Pacific coast of Mexico has cause a whole lot of rain in TX. White Rock Lake is flooded. No rowing for a few days.
3 (10 / 5). 28spm on the first two, 26 on the last. HR in the high 160s. Hard work. Second piece took a lot of discipline; got to practice a lot of positive self talk. Took it down to 26 for the third so I'd survive.

Right after erging I popped on the S-Works for a rain ride. But then it stopped raining and that annoyed me. Nevertheless, visit the spillway, which was roaring, and toured the lake to see all the debris. Pretty pooped by the end.
