Got a flat just after leaving the parking lot. Luckily I had my old rskis with me. Unluckily, I never bother to changed the worn out wheels so they tracked very poorly. Nevertheless, put in a fartlek sort of workout.

Orienteering 1:25:00 [3]

Running by 0720 so I could finish and help with the start and other chores. Pretty much the same pattern as yesterday. Good attempt at navigation, lack of orienteering means I sometimes misread the terrain, thick forest makes running a fight. Up until C13 that is. After that my brain kept drifting. I'd notice it, bring it back to navigation, only to find a few moments later I was thinking of other things again. Interesting phenom. I was really trying to focus but it wouldn't stick. One of the things I really like about orienteering is observing my brain both function and malfunction. The former is fun. The latter is interesting and intriguing.

NTOA All Saints event. Set up finish, set up start, got start going, hung out for a couple of hours to make sure there were no course issues, and finally got started about 12:30pm. Ralph set a good course. My nav discipline was pretty good. However, my distance and elevation judgement are rusty. Still, only had one miss. The forest seemed very think. Felt like a fight the whole time Nice day. Enjoyed it.

ps: Robbie beat me by 9 min over the 6k, which is annoying.

6 x 1k = 4 (1k / 1min) / 5 then another two.

First time I've ever done speedwork on the rskis. Started with a good agility WU in the parking lot; I didn't want to start cranking along on the trail with sleepy legs. I don't feel like rigorously quantifying another activity so I'm not going to bother recording splits. Main thing is I worked hard and got my HR to 155+.
