Erg (RP3) 1:10:00 [3]

8 (500m / 3:30)
Time to get back at it. The RP3 monitor is set to match a C2. Seemed reasonable, ie, my pace relative to SR seemed about right. Pretty happy with the results given that I'm still a bit coughy and snotty, as well as this being the first serious erg effort. I didn't get a time on the 3rd piece because the monitor mount came lose and fell.

Note

Ran out of time and I was still not feeling great so bagged it.

XC Sking 1:33:00 [3] 16.8 km (5:32 / km) +190m 5:14 / km
shoes: V2 Aero XL

5C and raining. Sometime a light rain, sometimes a heavy rain. I put on two layers of cloths, rain gear and neoprene gloves. My theory was that if I kept the rain "outside" then it was just as if I was inside. Only slightly worked. I finished pretty soaked. I felt the cold but didn't feel cold. Nevertheless, I was feeling a little off even after a shower.

Wasn't moving very fast but that was fine. Lifting yesterday definitely took the edge off. I got in two Birkie loops and then a trip down the trail and back. Enough for today I guess.

Erg (RP3) 50:00 [3]

Easy. Worked enough for a light sweat but not breathing hard enough to over work my lungs.

Lift (dumbbells) 25:00 [3]

At the Y. Only 2 sets of each exercise and not overworking it. I feel weak and puny. On the plus side, post dinner my cold seems much improved -- even better than earlier in the day.

Note

Started having sick symptoms on Monday. Tue and Wed were days for constant nose running and sneezing. Thu. was coughing day. Today will be, hopefully, decreasing coughing day.

Typically, as soon as I don't fee like death I try to get out for some activity. The trouble is that while I am functional it seems like the illness lingers for longer. Thus, for once, as an experiment, I'm going to try to "stand down" until I feel mostly better. Hopefully, tomorrow I will get out for some easy activity.
