Erg (CoachK-S01) 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: RP3

5 [ 10 ( 100m MP at 25ish / 100m paddle) = 50 x P10

Windy and a bit tight on time so just went to the erg. I was feeling a little lethargic all day and so I wasn't expecting much. However, the workout went pretty well.

On the first set I was having trouble breaking 500N on max force. However, I slowly increased forced such that the middle were in the 500-530 range. Then on the last set I push a bit and reach a max of 580N a few times. Couldn't hit 600N though. I've never tracked Newton's before so I now have my first set of data.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]

West Point - Long
Felt ok warming up but my hamstring became unhappy on the climb to C3. Decided to go to a walk on the way to C5. Got bored of walking after a while and just took the road back. Disappointing because I was reading the map and terrain well enough and it was a nice day. In hindsight, I should have just jogged the sprint yesterday. Oh well.

Orienteering 1:30:00 [3]

West Point A Meet

Middle at Deep Hollow
4k with 170m climb in 43ish
It's been so long since I navigated in this type of terrain that I was getting a little anxious when reviewing maps. Also, my fingers were crossed that my hamstring held up. In the end, my time was slow but I was relatively clean and I ran without any issues. I'll call that a victory. Nice day for running and I enjoyed the course. Also, I experimented with the half moon reading specs for the first time and it worked out well; my eyes are to the point where the magnifier on the compass was no longer doing the job.

Spring at Natural Bridge
3k with ???m climb in 23:2
I was able to run with all the speed I had in my legs. That is until just before the go control my my hamstring slightly grabbed again. Thus, my sprint from the go control was a walk. I think I eased up fast enough that it didn't pull and I'm hopeful I will be running tomorrow. My nav was so-so. I'm rusty and navigating quickly with sometimes annoying veg and much of the time difficult footing was a bit of a challenge. I had a brain freeze on the way to 9 and lost about a minute -- just got confused and stuck for no good reason. Got back at it though. Had fun.

Bike 1:16:00 [3]

Meeting Sam for a business ride (discuss boathouse business) but he was late so I did a handful of hills to kill time. Then we went around the lake. Productive meeting.

Row 45:00 [3]

I was going to do a tempo type workout but Sebastian Peter (new coach at WR) asked if I wanted to go out in the 2x. Decided to be social instead of worrying about a training plan. Nice row.

Bike 1:20:00 [3]

Nice evening. The bird people were set up with their bazooka cameras and scopes checking out the owl and it's baby down near Doctor's Hospital. I stopped and watched for a bit too. It's one big bird. It would be cool to see it with wings spread.

Row 1:26:00 [3]

10 (500m / 500m)

Afternoon row on the buoy line, which is much more "relaxing" because I don't have to continually look over my shoulder for knucklehead juniors and their knucklehead coaches.

Pretty good work. I thought I might wimp out but with a little self-talk I just kept at it. Held consistent SR of 28-29 throughout. Didn't bother worry about pace though. HR_max was a consistent 170-172.
