Lift (TRX) 20:00 [3]

Random stuff.

Wednesday Nov 16, 2016 #

Row 52:00 [3]

Easy. Very nice morning with steam coming off calm water.

XC Sking 41:00 [3]
shoes: V2 XLA98

Started out on the Aeros but 5 min in I flatted. Walked back and got my other rollers. Some old dude stopped me and had all sorts of questions about roller skis. He seemed quite intent on taking it up. I tried to explain the pros and cons as well as steer him to classic skiing but, in the end, I think he will have to collect his own wounds.

Time myself on the tire change -- about 32 min. Still a big pain in the but. Got the tire off fast. Talc on the tube is unnecessary. Do not try to get both beads on at one. Do the inside, then work on the outside. I think I need to break down and get one of the tire changing rigs.

Run 1:05:00 [3]

I was tired and slightly sick yesterday so I went to bed early and skipped my morning workout to sleep in. That helped but I was still a bit off. A good lunch helped some more but I was still a little off in the afternoon. Met Karl for a run at Norbuk and I ended up feeling better after than before. But I still don't feel completely A-OK so early to bed for me again tonight.

Lift 15:00 [3]

Quick set of exercises at the boathouse before a meeting.

5 min of tech drills in the parking lot then zipping along the west side of lake. Stopped to meet Max the Collie who freaks out every time I go by. He sniffed me and was calm. Once I start rolling again he got excited. I'll try a few more times. Hate to keep stressing him out all winter.

Row 1:36:00 [3] 18.0 km (5:20 / km)

Nice gray, cool and calm morning -- my favorite. Good steady state row.

Run 32:00 [3]

Possum Trot training. Directly after rowing I headed out along the dam and then into the old fish hatchery. Did some light plyometrics along the way. I neglected to slash my legs with thorns, which really should be part of a proper PT training session.

Lift (TRX) 20:00 [3]

Another experimentation session.

XC Sking 2:00:00 [3] 28.5 km (4:13 / km) +300m 4:00 / km
shoes: V2 Aero XL

3 Neighborhood-Birkie loops, down and back on the SF Trail, one more NB loop. Good ski. Started getting a little wobbly on the last loop but good workout. Nice morning too. A front came through such that according to Mr. Garmin our house drop 20m in elevation.

Loop #: pace (about 60m on each loop)
1) 3:59
2) 4:07
3) 4:15
4) 4:21

Lift 20:00 [3]

I've rigged up TRX straps in the garage and brought in some adjustable dumbbells. I did random things with each to get the feel of things. My man cave is going to need some improvements but the basics are there.
