Breck. Warm almost purple wax morning. Went with the Speedmax again. We did our usual warm up trails and a loop of Beaver Meadow. We then decided to check out Morning Glory. Then, what the heck, up and up on Glutimus Maximus. It's a very pretty trail weaving through the woods that goes up and up. Steep up is not my specialty -- I can't open my legs as wide as would be optimal. We skipped the loop trail at the top because it hadn't been groom recently and I was in no mood for extra lifting of my skis while doing more up hill. On the plus side, it was a fast and furious down having to slalom on the xc skis on a narrow track in the woods -- ZING. I headed back to the lodge on tired legs and did another 2k on flat trails reinforcing good habits and technique. Lisa had finished up snowshoeing and was testing some skis so I stopped and chatted with her a couple of times. We started under cloudy almost foggy skies and finished with a nice sunny day. Excellent outing.

Finished with 98.7k for the 3.5 days.

Frisco. Fischer Speed Cold with yesterdays CH6. Just right for the first hour then a touch slow as temps warmed to purple zone. Back and forth on Crown Point a bit with the main attraction being a circuit of Jody's Nugget. The latter stays on the very top of the peninsula so there are great views. Lots of short up and downs, which were fun. Ran a bit low on energy over the last 15-20min, but that's understandable. Very good ski.

Breck. Back on the Speedmax Plus w/ LF7. This should really be a one ski day to recover a bit but that's not what the schedule allows. I had fun on the downs and had decent technique zipping along at speed. My climbing is much improved well and I am better able to find a gear I can keep diesel-ing along in. However, I was a bit out of steam. Pat did a third loop of Beaver Meadow and I pealed offed for a bit on green trails to get my distance to 11k. Fun ski but I'm tired.

Gold Run Nordic. First time I've skied here. Arrived at 9 but then spent time putting CH6 on my Firscher Speed Cold skis. Probably could have used 5. I erred on the side of a little warmer but the sun didn't come out so the skis were a little slow. More challenging was that the track often sunk a bit under my ski when driving -- that was tiring.

The big loop in the beginning was nice but typical golf course-ish. I missed seeing the mom and kid moose that Lisa saw later. Then started working up the canyon. It was a long gradual climb with lots of "need oxygen" breaks, Eventually got beyond the homes and into forest, which was great. Climbed to the switchback and then headed back down. Thought I'd check out the Hoodoo Voodoo black trail thinking I could exit via one of the cutoffs shown on the map. The map lied. The trail was very technical with short steep ups and downs, a lot of turns and a lot of work. Very cool though -- exhausting but fun. Finally got back to the main track and zipped backed to the lodge.

(+1k added to the Garmin total due to user error.)

Frisco for the afternoon ski. Snowed through out and it was nice and fast. Used the Speedmax Plus with yesterdays LF7. Pat and I zipped around. After about 10k I was getting pretty weary, particularly on the climbs. It was so nice though I didn't mind staying out longer.
