XC Sking 40:00 [3]
Well, that was silly. Snowed about 15cm last night and with the Korte & Haken today, the south tracks are are obviously the top priority. We skied from the North End Trail head with other silly people. It is very hard to skate with 15cm of ungroomed snow. Thus, the only technique I could work on was lifting my feet up. Nevertheless, pretty morning and good spirits.
I got solid sleep last night thanks to Nyquil + melatonin. Lungs + chest slowly improving.
Note
Pre-race thoughts:
* Do the best I can, with what I have, where I am.
* Be mellow at the start. I'm concerned there is going to be a lot of aggressive folks at the start of wave 3. I don't want to take a spill and/or break a pole. There will be plenty of time to pass. Just stay with traffic.
* Take it in 5km chunks. The race is too long to keep thinking about the finish. 5 km chunks is the plan, one at a time.
* Drink! I will be sweating more than I think.
* GU every 40min! I can skip the first aid station but GU and drink at all the rest. Shove some bananas down too.
* Be efficient with technique. Less muscle, more efficiency.
