Row 50:00 [3]

Rest week over. Left the boathouse at 1130 and made excellent time to Austin until the last 5 miles. I really do not enjoy driving into Austin; getting down to the river on I35 is always a pain. On top of that, Luis sent a text indicating that the trailer was parked on the south side of the river, which was very odd. However, odd things happen at regattas and I thought perhaps they had to change the venue for some reason or another -- there is always some reason or another. Well, it turns out that Luis sucks a Google maps. I called him some names once I caught up with him at Festival Beach. Really only cost me about 15 min though.

Did 4 runs down the course visualizing my 1x race. On the 2nd and 3rd runs I put some effort into the start, surges and finish. But not enough to make me feel tired -- just a short burst of work.

Fingers crossed the weather is really really weird tomorrow or not weird at all. If the latter, we get to race. If the former, we just go home. What is annoying is stilling around all day, little delay, then a little hope, then a little delay, etc.

PT (Kinetichain) 1 [3]

At the shop. Worked with Adrienne today -- she was good. Learned I was doing part of my balance-clock drill wrong. Also time to take the difficulty up. Learned a new should exercise; I think she call them shoulder thrashers.

Run 38:00 [3]

Easy + strides. Hot out.

Monday Apr 8 #

PT 1 [3]

At the shop

Sunday Apr 7 #

Row 1:15:00 [3]

8 x 250.
4x for 30 with TX Champs lineup: Pat, Mark, me and Luis. Warm up loop then down the buoy line hard for 250 then easy for 250.
2x for 45 with Pat. Ben and Nick showed up and we all distributed to doubles and did the same loop. Fun to have 3 doubles racing down the buoy line. Kept Pat and I honest or we might have just gone out for 500 x chit-chat.

Bike 52:00 [3]

Easy. Nice gray cool afternoon. Storms never hit us. After riding I did the CP stuff.

Lift (Core Perf) 21:00 [3]

MP of wk1-3
PH / Kinetichain smashup.

Row 1:35:00 [3]

The weather predicted know rowing but when I woke at 6:30 and looked at the current state of things I hustled out of bed and got to the lake. Didn't even need to hustle as it stayed calm all morning. Went back and forth on the 2k line walking through 6 full race simulations, counting strokes, marking shift pts, etc. If I can't physically be race ready at least I can be mentally prepared to deal with it.

Lift (Core Perf) 35:00 [3]

Starting weeks 4 through 6.
MP - A & B = 15
S - A = 20
I am continually frustrated and dismayed by my lack of balance. S now involves cable pulls that I need to go to SMU for.
