BP loops. Global warming, pfft. It was less than 90F this evening. Hockey stick must really be a wimpy little golf putter. In any case, I think it helped me to have a solid ride. I kind of hid the first thee laps as I still don't feel confident in my recovery. However, at lap 4 I felt I could take a pull. I ended up with some good work the last few laps. By number 6 our lead group had dwindled down to 5 (I think we started with around 25). Then heading S on W Lauther there were just 3 of us. The youngster crushed us motoring away before Jackson Pt. Around Jaskson Pt I was able to push away from the other old guy. Fun ride.

OMP. Had a good climb of Bath House Hill and climbed Loving still in the pack. That's a great improvement from last week and I decided that was good enough for today.

I was going to row this morning but I didn't sleep well. At some point I reset my alarm to 0730 to get some snooze time back. However, I need to start getting some more rowing in so I got myself on an SMU erg for a bit before yoga.

Some hills. On the short ones I'd sprint them. I think I got about 8 of those in. The longer ones I just took steady. Otherwise, just pedaled. Overall, felt decent.

Southie ride. As usual things start really rocking once we pull off 80. As usual I was working harder than I really wanted to -- I keep thinking this week will be different. Probably it will have to cool off before I'm not eventually put at my limit. The data clearly shows that the hills in the 14th and 15the segment did me in. It's not so much that these are big hills it's just that I'm too close to max that I don't have the room to absorb the challenges. Me and another guy got gapped and we took turns trying to close it. Twice I pulled us within 20-30m but would run out of gas and probably the group picked the pace up a bit. It was annoying and amusing. Anyway, I could feel I was digging too deep and eventually pulled the plug. Had to ride Polly and Barnesbridge on my own. Stopped at Volero for some cold H20 which I needed for pouring on my head more than in my body. Hooked up with a couple of other stragglers and the 3 of us worked together to manage with wind on I35.
