Lift (CoachK) 25:00 [3]

Core Perf MP-B then CoachK #2. However, on the second round doing straight leg dead lifts my left medial hamstring said, "Nope!" I massaged it some but it wasn't loosening up and, in any case, self massaging your hamstring at the gym can get an old guy in trouble. I did some shoulder PT stuff and called it a day. Walking with a hitch.

Bike 1:20:00 [3] 34.68 km (26.0 kph) +327m

The heat index was predicted to be well over 100 so I didn't feel like doing any evening rides (BP loops or King Crits). The Thu OMP ride starts at 0600 and I didn't feel like getting up early enough to make that. End result, did my own thing.

Did the usual 3 Loving-Shook-West Shore hills easy. Cranked the short & steep Kimberly hill twice. Then over to FPH for what I will now call Lanshire-Thunderbird Hill Loops, which I did 4 times. I took Lanshire at a moderate effort, then around to Thuderbird, which I sprinted, then around FPH and down. On Thunderbird I braked going down to avoid getting a bunch of momentum so that I had to work the whole thing, bottom to top. On the way home I hit Kimberly again. I suppose I should say I rode Kimberly again. maybe I'd better add the "Lane" and say I rode my bike up Kimberly Lane. Anyway, I was tired but not totally spent after it was all done, so good work.

Row 1:05:00 [3]

Josh's class. Last one. Not a strong boat this morning so it felt very heavy to me. High load work and more tiring that I would have preferred.

Run 25:00 [3]

Walk run because I was feeling hot. Tired but good spring in my stride.

Some sub-morons who presumably were feeding the ducks left a bunch of bread related trash along the shore. While picking it up something stung me on my leg. I now have a big welt and my hands and feel are all itchy. Very annoying.

Update: My arm pits started to get really itchy too. Went down the the SMU Health Center and picked up some Benedryl. That has been helpful but I really want to take a nap now.

Lift (CoachK) 46:00 [3]

Core Perf MA-A then Workout #1. Only 2/4 rounds though because 48min of work was plenty.

Bike 1:40:30 [3] 51.29 km (30.6 kph) +161m
ahr:137 max:168

OMP. Cranking. Even set some segment PRs along the Arboretum, which arguably isn't a good thing because there is too much civilian traffic there, ie, not good for our rep. I made it up Loving Hill in the back of the group and up West Shore the last of the trailing stragglers who hadn't taken a short cut. I tried to hook up with another guy but he bailed at TP hill. I kept some effort on until Jackson Pt and then called it a day. Whooped. Had a headache when I got home; don't know if it was due to effort, the heat, or dehydration. All and all, my best OMP of the season.

Row 1:00:00 [3]

25 min of one sort of drill or another then steady rowing. Felt like I had good pressure. Sweating buckets.

Run 25:00 [3]

Right after rowing I starting my training for Big Basin with an easy run. Didn't feel too bad but going slow. I forgot that wearing a rowing uni running is a bad idea -- chaffing.
