Row 42:00 [3]

With Grant Gillaford. Folks are either out of town this weekend or have already declared their racing season complete and I couldn't find a 2x partner. However, I remember Grant whose daughter is on the junior team. He took up rowing himself last spring and I heard he was itching to do more. Long story short, we went out for a practice row this morning. The first half was spent easy and getting into a rhythm. Then I messed with the rate seeing how we did at 24, 26, 28 and 30. It was a little rough at first but things smoothed out. Technique wise I think we could handle a 26-27. What I don't know is how long Grant will be able to hold that. We'll see. The important thing is just to go have fun and get another guy rowing.

Row 55:00 [3]

Foggy and drippy but not enough to prevent me from going out. I just rowed back and forth along the western shore. I tried to row as quietly as possible so that I could hear the morning between strokes.

Run 48:00 [3]

Didn't feel too bad today. There was a soccer ball in the goal at Woodrow HS so I spent 10 min dribbling from one end to another and taking feeble shots. There was also a big tractor tire like used for crossfit. I've never flipped one o those before so I gave it a shot; it was heavy.

Row 1:12:00 [3]

Race WU
2 x 3k
1st at 26-27, 2nd at 25.5 - 26.5

A very fine morning. Slight head on the first, slight tail on the second. Technique was good but physically felt tired, which is understandable given the work over the last couple of days. SPM kept dropping a bit on the second. Still, my paces weren't that far off race pace so that's pretty good.

Ordered new Carl Douglas tracks and wheels! Ooooooooo!

Bike 1:10:00 [3]

Zipped home, changed, ate a banana and some yogurt, and then met Sam down at Randall Park for a ride around the lake. Easy social ride. Legs were tired getting up the hill to home. Need to chill for a few days.
