1) 3:23
2) 3:25

As hard as I was working, my HR stayed around 145. In addition, I never felt fresh even from the start. Thus, I was surprised by my times. I went slightly faster one time last year but only slightly. These were good. It really doesn't make sense to me. Such is life as an old guy athlete; the body is often unpredictable and doesn't make sense.

Self-serve NTOA event at Cooper Lake SP. 7.1k in 71:40. Nice day for running. Enjoyed being out.

Of note:
* Modified Lukas punching. I didn't audibly say "beep" but I certainly said it in my head.
* Chase a wobbly armadillo.

Lunch at Bodacious, which was the usual level of Bodacious, which is fine, but not really bodacious.

Mineral Wells Nordic Center (State Park). Lisa rode on the MW Trailway and I skied. I had scoped out the roads last spring when cycling. Nice ups and downs and good road surface. We passed through rain on the way but it was sunny and dry for us. I kept a steady effort and tried to be as efficient as possible. I was moving fast on the Aeros such that each 14k+ lap took about an hour. I added an extra trip down to the spillway and back up to get to 2.5 hours. Attackpoint is stingy with the climb meters; Garmin has me at 430 and Strava 480.

My glutes are tired. I'm going to dial it back this week

Today's lunch was at Natty Flat's BBQ in Mineral Wells. I liked it better than the Mesquite Pit. I had a large chopped brisket sandwich, a large pulled pork sandwich, both with Carolina style sauce, cornbread, Fritos and a C-chip cookie. I give it a B+. Lisa's side portions were rather small and if I had ordered those the grade would be lower.
