i could have been significantly better prepared for this race, should have checked my descriptions in the start line, should have started my warm up later (could have not been sick part 2)
my first major oof was #7 where i ran up an entire flight of stairs, mistook the fence for uncrossable, ran DOWN the entire flight just to have to run up and down again.
made a few more mistakes/stupid route choices towards the end of the course, worst being on top of a bridge the control was on the bottom of but also just spent WAY too much effort navigating the longer legs which made me lose so much speed — felt like i could have been pushing much faster :/
i’m gonna move on from dwelling on this — tomorrows terrain looks very interesting — will have fun
(p.s. i could have done better for my own standards but doesn’t mean i am any less of an orienteer or less worthy to be or have been on any team! one race at a time bb)
