Note
(rest day)

first of (mostlikely)3 before the half -- was gonna do strength today but i don't have the time and with the amount of walking i do on campus, i think taking 3 days rest instead of 2 might help w the half

Note

CARBLOADINGSTARTSTOMORROW! comment your favorite carb

Running 45:00 [3] 4.16 mi (10:49 / mi)
ahr:141 max:157

1 mi easy > 2 mi half mar pace (10:20ish) > 1 mi easy

feeling pretty darn optimistic about this half marathon given how easy my goal pace felt — might kick it down modestly (nothing lower than 10 given my last half was over 11 but only gonna push it after mile 8)

semi-tapering

Note

accident prone, injury proof (knock on wood)

thought i did ok. didn’t.

race recap:
what sucks more than having a bad race is thinking ur having a decent race and then having a bad race. struggling to see this one in a “ran-my-own-race-doesn’t-matter-what-my-place-was” given the sheer amt of people that beat me and how much they beat me by. few controls that should’ve been a non-issue became 2-3min mistakes which added up and they added up to push me behind a significant amount. i think i’m mostly just upset bc i’m tired and set my expectations way too high. i’m not usually this grumpy after a bad run. tomorrow’s a new day.

orienteering 1:37 [3] 0.13 mi (12:27 / mi)
ahr:127

jog to start — heart rate is normalizing which is good

Note

still feeling poopy abt today’s race but with a good lunch in me i am feeling significantly better — bigger picture, i am so grateful to not be injured and be able to run. that’s still always my number one goal. gonna keep doing the stuff i need to do (eating, resting, strength) to not get injured and the rest will follow :)
