Trail Race race (Kepler Challenge) 5:55:00 [4] 60.0 km (5:55 / km) +1400m 5:18 / km
slept:5.0 shoes: NB 873 Red

Went very well, achieved my target of sub 6 hours, and a top 10 place. The position to be confirmed. Although the pace was a bit slower than I wish.

Feeling in good condition, just a few small blisters, nothing to worry about.

Running intervals 35:00 [4] 7.0 km (5:00 / km)
slept:9.0 shoes: NB 873 Red

Took my brother's dog, George, for a run. She lasted all of 500m then throw herself to the ground. Tied her to a tree, did my intervals, then went back.

Hiking 1:30:00 [1] 7.0 km (12:51 / km)

From Christchurch Gondola to Sumner. There must have been a race as most of it was taped.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [1] ** 8.0 km (7:30 / km) +200m 6:40 / km
slept:10.0 shoes: NB 873 Red

Grapped a map of Victoria Park from a Library then hopped on the #10 Bus. (I'll suggest to MDOC we get our local libraries to stock permanent O maps.) I planned to leave my rucksack at the vistor centre, but it wasn't manned. It would probably have been safe to leave in the centre.

I didn't do very well, the vegetation was dense, and the rucksack was a hindrance. And I was wearing shorts. After a few controls I decided to forgot the controls and run just along the paths.

Running 40:00 [1] 8.0 km (5:00 / km)
slept:3.5 shoes: NB 873 Red

A gentle run, unsurprisingly not at all lively. Nice to get the legs moving. Unfortunately the parks near my brother aren't very interesting and they don't appear to link up well. Tomorrow I think I will try a permanent O course at Victoria Park.
