| Australian Champs. Bloody cold day. Ran in a thermal. Good technically and happy with route choice until 4th last control. Hadn't contoured but climbed out of previous control then navigated as though had contoured. Ran to a cliff even though feeling wasn't right. Relocated straight away but then stopped and checked whether everything lining up etc...when should of just starting runnning in right direction. Ended up 2.5 minute mistake. Otherwise good nav. Hard for me to know how to pace myself over long distance. Did fade at end though still think I should have pushed it harder. Ended up 6th. Would have been 5th without mistake. Lucky with placings, eg 2 sec ahead of Anna S. 13 min behind Hanny - bit poor, but an improvement! |

| Watched the JWOC Middle finals. What a hoot. Especially the commentary- made specating even the B-final very fun. Then set out to test my metal on the terrain. Thought I'd ran as fast as I could and see if navigate at "speed". It worked very well and I had a lot of fun. Biggest mistake 20sec. Passed Anna S coming into control from wrong direction on 3 then caught Cassie around control 5 and Mace around contol 6. Ran near Cassie for rest of course. |

| Collected controls from the JWOC Middle Distance qualifications. Jogged around with Jasmine picking up units and some stands. Had an ace time while getting in some good technical training. Reminded me of being on a training camp - haven't been on one of them in way too long. |

| Made a comeback to track training after being a lardy arse for several months, and just running on the weekends plus part of the way to or from work on the 2 days I work. Thought a token speed session or two is in order, since NSW Champs are on Saturday, then I'll be running some JWOC spectator races and Aust Champs.
Tiia wasn't happy about me going and got real nasty with mum who came over to mind her & Jamie. I prised Tiia's fingers off me and jogged down to Mowbray Oval. Apparently she was happy again within minutes of me leaving.
4 lap warm up. 50m on, 50m off for 1 lap.
4 x 600m - fast for 200m, 200m float, then 200m fast.
Jog home. |
