| Sprint Race at Canberra Uni. Got dudded by an overpass that appeared to be an uncrossable wall on the map- going around a building to avoid it and losing one minute - lost 1 minute and 1 minute quicker would have meant 3rd place rather than 11th. Very annoying! Susanne and Liggo were others (that I know of) who did the same thing. Pretty clean run otherwise. |

| One-man, One-woman sprint relay at Radford College. Bad start with mistakes on 1st 2 controls. Luckily could catch up a bit of lost time by running flat out along a long chain of junior girls for the rest of that loop! No mistakes on second loop - Had Jo in my sights for a lot of the way. Thanks to a top effort by Matt we ended up with a win!! The format made for a lot of fun and action. |

| Jonno and Cathy were in town and stayed overnight. Had a run with Jonno before the kids woke up, leaving Cathy to deal with them when they woke up mid-run. Fairyland loop again..being an old favourite of Jonno's too. |

| Left work early and jogged down to athletics track ready to run an intervals session, but squad wasn't there. I was relieved! Enjoyed a run around the fairyland loop instead. It was a lovely evening. Hooked up with Stix and the kids on way back from kindy as I crossed Mowbray Rd. |

| Annoyed and frustrated at myself for making a 5 min mistake. Started off cautiously but well to 1st. Was closing 40 sec gap on Kirsten across yellow towards 2. 45 sec mistake on 2 following Kirsten into wrong boulders. Then took off around hillside to 3. Down would have been better. Knew where I was in gully before control and just planned to go around hill until next small gully that our control would be on edge of. Never saw gully and ran to next bigger gully cause I didn't know where else to run and then were some guys that seemed to be going to control that could potentially be ours. Knew I had run too far, but took a long time to head back, as Kirsten there too and wasn't exactly sure where I was so wasn't going to have a proper attackpoint. Annoyed at myself for turning it into such a big mistake when I knew where I was up until 150m from control.
I snuck in and got spectator control without Mace and Kirsten noticing but then lost a minute on the next control and they passed me again. Had said to myslef to run past 1st knoll until 2nd, but ended up at 3rd knoll! Passed Anna and Mace on next control - they were on wrong spur. I ran the last loop well until last control. Recaught Kirsten at 14 then led her through final controls. A bit of a debacle of a sprint finish for 6th place- running beyond last control and turning back - Kirsten realising first. They'd miscalculated my start time so I pipped Kirsten in the end.
Was bad to be beaten by 12 minutes that day.
Not happy with Easter performances - too many bad mistakes, esp around other people. Had expected that fitness rather than navigation would let me down. Was pretty nervous - much more than usual. Wasn't being very confident. Hopefully some more race practice will help... |

| Pretty good Classic run so disappointed only good enough for an 8th place. Though very close and probably at disadvantage at not running with anyone during the course. Dumbest thing was running too far along a track option - too busy checking out rest of course etc. Probably lost a minute there. Also lost a minute where must have been 10 metres from my boulder and overshot into further boulders 50m away then went through the whole "oh my god, must have run to a wrong hill, where have I come to" thought scenario before turning around and seeing the control plain as day. Also some 20-30 seconds lost at places through similar irrational fears. Felt physically good. |
