Saturday Apr 5

Running 1:20:00 [3]14 km (5:43 / km)
Ran from Nea's birthday party at Blenheim Park into Lane Cove National Park at Caravan Park. Up to Porters Creek on road, then tracks. Over Lane Cove Road bridge, along northside of river and back home.

Friday Apr 4

Running 30:00 [3]6 km (5:00 / km)
Jogged from Chatswood back home through mostly bushland passing below Shingler's house. Dad drove the kids back from our shopping trip.

Wednesday Apr 2

Running race 25:40 [5]6 km (4:17 / km) vdot: 46.5
Corporate Cup. Pushed fairly hard even though legs weary. It was the semis for our team in the knockout and we had flash new running singlets with "Burn fat, Not oil" on the back. Luckily the team got through last round meaning I am out of trouble for not running the last race. Somehow it has been hot every time lately - 29 degrees today.
Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]3 km (6:40 / km)
Jogged to and from Domain.
Running 30:00 [3]6 km (5:00 / km)
Jogged from work up George and Kent St to second last bus stop then from first bus stop in Lane Cove back home via Batten Creek Reserve.

Tuesday Apr 1

Running intervals 30:00 [5]6 km (5:00 / km)
200m intervals near cricket nets at Funny Farm with Jo and Cris - surging on short hill section. 4 sets of 5 with jog recoveries ~43 seconds each.

Was getting a lot of style advice - arms are doing better, but arch back and am on bum too much on up hills. Have to try and "lift in the hips". They got me on the ground afterwards to try some core strengthening exercises and were mortified at my shakiness on leg raises. They now want me to do daily crunches to get some strength happening, so I had do the "lift" thing better on the hills. They do their stretch routines and exercises daily, of course.

Warm up/ down 10:00 [3]
Usual warm up. Skipped warm down as had to get back as "Addbuild" were coming to chat about possible house extensions.

Monday Mar 31

Exercises 15:00 [1]
Put on a yoga DVD as have been meaning to do for ages. Needed it as was so stiff after the weekend. A few interruptions plus attempted yoga poses by Jamie! Then went over to the oldies and enjoyed a short swim at Fairlight Beach on a beautiful sunny calm day.

Sunday Mar 30

Orienteering 58:06 [3]9.2 km (6:19 / km)
3 loop mass start classic at Sparrow Hill. Should have gone with the pack along the road on 1st one for longer- too slow in forest. But was fortunate to happen upon my other 2 first controls on way, so retraced steps on the next loops! Lost probably a minute to 90 sec on 2nd control, reading off the wrong contour bank as an attack point. Jo would have gotten miles ahead there- I'd seem her running off but thought I was on the right track and didn't head back toward the control for a while. Good navigation after that. Demoralising to be one of last to pick up map after 1st loop, but did the long one 1st. Didn't see too many people out there. Ran short sections with Mace and Anna and near Al. From 3rd last control looked behind and saw Ewelsie and thought damn it - what are my chances?! Gave the sprint finish a red hot go anyway. It kicked off from before the 2nd last control and thank to a slight deviation by Ewelsie we punched the last control together and she got me by just 1 second in the end. 1 second off the moola, but I was pretty happy with my efforts. 3.20 behind Jo and 4th place.
