Orienteering race 1:07:58 [5] ***** 10.0 km (6:48 / km) +260m 6:01 / km
spiked:23/30c (injured) shoes: Olway Tigers

Six day day six at Anagach. Ankle still bad and pretty sore after running yesterday but slapped the active ankle on and ran anyway. Had been on car parking for EUOC all morning so legs stiff again. Started poorly with a mistkae on no. 1 then 4 so was caught by Sprotty 3mins at 6. Missed 7 a little so was a bit behind. Legs feeling shafted already but fought to keep up. He missed 13 and I got ahead so was spurred on a bit. Was still with him at 18 ten took a shit route, he got away and I was dead. Still kept on fighting and was ok apart from losing a minute at the second last through mostly tirdness I reckon. Was shafted atthe finish. Oli won in 57.07 to win overall. I finished by beating Halliday, Mercer, and Haines on the last day and overall. Mogenson will have to wait.. Routegadget here - http://www.spey2007.routegadget.co.uk/cgi-bin/reit...

Orienteering race 37:37 [5] ***** 5.1 km (7:23 / km) +110m 6:39 / km
spiked:13/14c (injured) shoes: Olway Tigers

Six day day 5, Camerory. Worked at the start all day with RR, so was quite tired and legs stiff when I started.Legs felt shafted the whole way round. Taped up ankle but it still felt well dodgy and was quite sore. Had to take it very carefully because of this. Didn't really make any mistakes though so ended up with a decent result, 11th with Duncan Archer winning in 34.36. Routegadget here - http://www.spey2007.routegadget.co.uk/cgi-bin/reit...

Orienteering race 1:05:41 [5] ***** 9.6 km (6:51 / km) +100m 6:30 / km
shoes: Walsh pb racer extreme

Six day day 4 on Culbin. Chasing start. Only had Pinker 4 mins ahead than a pack with Tobias Walgrehn, Mike Sprott and Ant Squire about a min behind. Overshot no. 1 slightly then next 3 ok, but mistake on 5. Tobias caught me with Sprtty just behind. Had the same butterfly as Tobias but feeling pretty knackered, but he missed sightly so I stayed with him till halfway round the long butterfly then he got away. Missed the control after the second butterfly then Spritty appeared so that made me feel a little better and I picked up the pace a bit. Unfortunately got really sloppy and stopped concentrating on orienteering near the end so made a few mistakes. Then twisted ankle quite badly at the penultimate control managed to get running again just but was hobbling to the finish. Not happy with the run, felt rubbish and orienteered badly at the end when tired. Finished 33rd. GG ripped it up in 52.35 which was immpressive. Unsuprisingly beaten by Hector, Dan and Joe. Oh well. Coombs a good 3rd. Routegadget here - http://www.spey2007.routegadget.co.uk/cgi-bin/reit...

Orienteering race 17:28 [3] **** 3.0 km (5:49 / km)
spiked:17/19c shoes: Brooks Adrenilne nightlife

Six Day "rest day" so naturally did a sprint race. Legs pretty screwed from the classic and head quite sore from the beer, so just took it easy and cruised the race and kept ahead of myself which was quite satisfyling. Didn't really make any mistakes apart from a couple of wobbles but missed the good route choice on the long leg that won GG the race. GG did 15.02 which is pretty speedy. Might put £5 on him each way for WOC sprint.

Orienteering race 1:37:34 [5] ***** 14.0 km (6:58 / km) +390m 6:07 / km
spiked:20/25c shoes: Walsh pb racer extreme

Six day day 3. Classic distance on Uath Lochans. Aim was to have a go at this classic and try and sustain a hard pace. Strted pretty badly with a stupid mistake on number 2. Totally brainless. Then lost time on no. 5 but the map was wrong around this area. Then lost time on the vague control no. 8. Got caught at no. 9 by Strain and Anders Axenborg. Took a good route to 11 and was in front ofMurray and we got a little bit away from Anders. Running with Murray till 15 which we missed slightly and Anders got in front. Murray broke away on 18 but I was able to stay almost with Anders to the end. Was happy with this as I felt strong today. Disapointed to lose time with mistakes at the start but happy with the rest. Finished 13th. Oli won in 82.56. Beat Haines, Mercer and Halliday. Mogenson is proving too good, that aim is abandoned. Routegadget here - http://www.spey2007.routegadget.co.uk/cgi-bin/reit...

Orienteering race 41:34 [5] ***** 5.0 km (8:19 / km) +180m 7:03 / km
spiked:5/10c shoes: Olway Tigers

Six day day 2. Balavil (near Craig Bui). Shocking run. Running ok, but orienteering really poorly. Bad mistake on no. 1, bad route on the long leg and awful four min miatke on a two min leg. Probably the worst mistake I've made in a long time. Surprisingly completed two aims! Mercer and Haines ran worse than me. Finished 33rd. Oli won in 32.29.
