Orienteering race 1:41:16 [4] 16.7 km (6:04 / km) +715m 5:00 / km
shoes: Walsh pb trainer2

JK Classic. Before the race I was really not looking forward to this. Difficult to be confident after feeling I was physically struggling the day before despite a decent run. However, actaully felt better than the day before which was good. Didn't go off that hard but maintained a steady effort the whole way round. Was pretty strong right to the end which showed in the splits. Had two gels which probably helped. Good confidence for future classic races as I think I can last the distance without difficulty. Maintaining a higher pace is more of a diffoiculty though...
Course wasn't too technically challenging but I enjoyed running through the nice woodes. Mistake on number 2 losing 30s and a few more small misses but technicaly good. Didn't feel there was much route choice, just went straight really.

Orienteering race 37:44 [5] 6.4 km (5:54 / km)
shoes: Walsh pb trainer2

JK middle race. Was really looking forward to this as felt it was my best chance of some succes at JK08. Had never run on leith hill before so was also looking forward to this as it looked fun. Plan wa to keep it controls and navigate using the contours and the rhodedendrons.
Overall a good race. Physically didn't feel good, which was dissapointing, but mentally ran a very controlled race. Was lacking flow though but this was mainly in the very technical bits (of which there were several). Found it very difficult to run at any speed into a control in the detailed stuff (or run at all at times). but speaking to people afterwards it seems this was the case for most people. So I just accepted the loss of seconds, slowed it down to avoiud the loss of minutes. Main mistake was 12, couldn't work the map out around there.
Really good area and course.
Good running by Scotia and Doug especially.

Orienteering race 16:45 [5] 2.7 km (6:12 / km)
shoes: Puma Trailfox

JK sprint race. First sprint race in a while and it showed. Very tricky area and good planning. Totally shite and hesitant route to number one. Completely failed to get into the map or the race. 45s lost. After that a few other small misses and no reall flow at all. A good sharp shock to the system. Position pretty poor but not disatrous. Good running from Scotia and Kris Jones m18-geez!

Short downward pyramind session before the JK. Felt OK but I don't have much speed. Not that surprising though. Decent session.
