Cycling 3:00:17 [3] 81.0 km (2:14 / km)

Set out from Aboyne heading North towards Tarland. Was a bit chilly first thing and quite windy today, and my legs weren't feeling at their freshest. Took a side road towards a viewpoint and carried on north through the hills. It was quite windy and open here. Terrain was really quite like the Borders, rolling hills. Roads were narrower and twistier than yesterday and a bit clary in places. Bloody farmers. Fun was had though. Eventually I hit an A road, then took another A road towards Alford. this section was rapid. Slightly downhill with wind behind me. Went right at bridge of Alford and over a side road joining the A road to Banchory a bit further south. Followed that for a bit, then took a smaller road towards Dess. This road was awesome. Downhill, quite smmoth and quite straight. Set a new personal land speed record of 69kph. Hit the A road and headed east through Kincardine O Neil then back to Banchory, then towards Strachan. Was getting quite tired by this point. Finished at Bogendreip. Another top day. Will leave the cycle south over cairn a Mount until another day!

Cycling 3:22:00 [3] 88.0 km (2:18 / km)

Le tour de Deeside day 1. EUOC weekend to Deeside. Achilles meant nae running for me. Decided to take the bike. Which turned out to be a great decision. Awesome weekend!
Got dropped off at Fettercairn and tackled Cairn o Mount. What a beast! The climb was brutal. Minibus had to drop into first gear apparently. At one point I was in the saddle bu in the granny ring and legs getting retty tired. Looked ahead to see the road steepen considerably. Oh, jobby, thinks I. Am I actually going to get up that. Out the saddle, legs on fire and going about as slow as you can without falling over. Made it. Crackin. Ride down the other side was sweet. Hit 65kmh. Stopped at Scolty for a spot of lunch. Threw some sticks with Ewan, then set off again on the south Deeside road towards aboyne. First while involved quite a bit of climbing which was tough on the legs, but road was very nice. Carried on until the turn off to Dinnet. Doug turned back here but I cut onto the A road, went west a bit more, then turned off on a road past cambus O May. This turned out to be a good routr choice. Beautiful road winding through sweet forest, sun glinting through the trees, birds of prey swooping down in front of you. not very many cars. crackin. Deeside takes some beating on days like this! Headed east after a while to Tarland and back to Aboyne. Job done. Tired but happy. (and a bit hungry).

Cycling 1:00:00 [3] 15.0 mi (4:00 / mi)

First time out in the bike in quite a while. Felt a bit rusty. Roads were a bit dirty and greasy in places. Took it very careful on the bends. Felt a bit tired and stuffed up. fresh air was good. Good feel achilles quite often but was not really sore, probably better than running. will see how it is tommorow.
