Out on the bike with Scott and Steve. Turns out Steve is pretty fit at the moment and pretty rapid. Several times he dissapeared up the road in a flash and was 50m away before I even reacted. Went out through Auchendinny and took on the long drag of a hill. It was tough today! Really felt the pace and hr just about max most of the way up. Unfit! Rest was fun though. Loop back round through Temple. Cracking run.

A mini circuit followed by some stretching. Did 5 min running on the treadmill which felt ok.

After watching the last few km of the giro stage and seeing Cav power to victory, though a run on the bike was in order. It's not about the bike. This is true. the bike is in excellent shape. my body however, is not. Doing next to no training for two months has amazingly made me unfit. Did three laps of the seat today. Nice to be out. First two were taken pretty steady, still quite tough with the wind though. On the third there was a cyclist ahead up the hill moving reasonably well so decided to unleash some punsihment on him. Crawled past trying to look casual as the legs started to burn. Chest started burning too. you know when you get that taste of blood in your mouth. think I've got some work to do before summer o races!
