Cycling 1:11:38 [3] 28.53 km (2:31 / km)
ahr:128 max:173

Well this was a stupid idea. Had the day off so convinced myself that I had to do something outside in the daylight. It was pishing it down, but told myself it would be fine. Put some gloves on and a shower proof jacket and got on the light. Debated with myself whether to turn back aftere the first few minutes but decided I was soaked now so may as well carry on...
Up logiekirk hill was tough as ever and got fairly warm. Way back was horrible, it got even wetter and I got freezing. Horrible. Even legs really cold. Never again will I ignore the spinning bike for conditio9ns like that.

Orienteering 53:00 [3] 5.2 km (10:12 / km)

FVO night event at Polmaise Wood. Great fun! Had heard lots of tales about the rubbish map beforehand so was prepared for that. Mass start format was ideal to make it exciting. Got in the lead fairly early on then spent a whlie along with everyone else looking for control in a pit on a bad bit of map. Got it first then got away with Tom. Ran together then split. happily knew where I was, so punched number 5 alone. Knew I was in the lead because I woke up the si box. Then got stuck in the green for the next control and lost a fair bit of time. Lead lost. On my own until I caught Steve N. Ran with him for a few then we caught Tom. Believed at this point we were in the lead but it turns out Fraser P was actually leading on the other gaffle. Spiked the control on the hide (pile of sticks) and got away on my own. Missed the next one (not sure if this was in the bermuda triangle area or not) then Fraser appeared. Now we were ahead in the lead. More mistakes in the last few ended in a sprint down the track which I edged (think fraser punched a wrong one at the end though!). Crackin fun and felt like I was racing well by my standards at night! Bring on the next one.

Collecting controls. Tired and it got a bit spooky. Not loving the rhodedendrons second time around.

Running intervals 20:00 [5] 4.8 km (4:10 / km)
shoes: Brooks adrenaline 2009

FVO intervals. Bit of a depleted crowd tonight, just me and Tom! Ran 4x1.2km off 5min.
First one felt a bit like hard work but rest were fine. Just tucked n behind for the last couple. Tom went on to do a fifth but I decided four was enough. 4.08, 4.06, 4.03, 4.08.

FVO circuits. Bit of depleted crowd tonight. I was feeling a bit weary. Felt better at the end though.
