Wee run at home. Out over the Dovecote Height keeping an eye on the sheep then out over the Sheil to the top of the Pen and back over Greatmoor. Clear blue skies, glorious weather!

Cycling long 3:48:00 [3] 96.0 km (2:23 / km) +1000m 2:15 / km

Long run on the bike from home. Big circular loop down the A7 then up through Roberton to Tushielaw, down through Eskdalemuir, cut through to Ewes and back home. First run of this route but only 4 junctions so not too challenging on the navigation front! The route was good and the road surface also good, much better than I expected. Barely had any cars to contend with for the bulk of it. Tired legs now!

Running long 2:10:00 [3] 17.0 km (7:39 / km) +1000m 5:55 / km
shoes: Inov8 x-talon

Long run straight after breakfast. Felt sluggish for the first bit after a lot of porridge! Set out over Bowanhill, mist all the way. Eventually made it out the mist at the top of greatmoor so climbed the Pen with blue skies above and a sea of cloud below. Pretty cool! Then dropped down into the valley before a steep climb up Skelfhill fell. From here went down the Fottman Hass ridge, over Langtae hill and up over Millstone Edge. Then down the side of forestry over Wehter Law and up lightening Hill. Back in the thick mist up there so came off at a slightly more acute angle than intended but altered the route slightly and finished through the forestry, back over the Binks onto Bowanhill and home. Felt strong in the second half which was good.

Running 39:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Inov8 x-talon

Wee loop before dinner. Legs a bit tired but actually nae bad. Dreich day but timed it well as things were just starting to clear. Over Bownanhill, past the sheil house, up to the top of the first Sheil ridge to the Binks boundary then back along the Binks side of Bowanhill.

Running long 2:30:00 [3] 18.0 km (8:20 / km) +1050m 6:27 / km
shoes: Inov8 x-talon

Long run on the way to Granny W's. Went via Moffat and stopped at the foot of the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall. Went up past the fall then along the side of Loch Skeen. Views up here were tremendous and a perfect day. Sun out, no wind and snow covering all the tops and ridges. Running in just a thermal all the way. Ran over Lochcraig head and then along the ridge over Firthbrig Head, Donald's Cleugh head then down over Great Hill. looped round Gameshope loch, stopping for a wee refuel and back over Din Law, Cape, down into Rotten Bottom, up Firthope Rig and finally White Coomb. Took in the panoramic views at the top for a couple of minutes. Hills visible for miles around right to and beyond the glistening Solway Firth. Middle of Glasgow it was not. Finished back past the waterfall. Then onto Granny's for a slap up meal or two. Perfect!
