Running race 55:35 [5] 6.18 km (9:00 / km) +742m 5:37 / km
shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 265

Glamaig hill race. What a bloody hard race! Skye was pretty much the only place in Britain where it was raining and it was pouring down and howling a gale. So bad I and most of the field ran the whole race with a jacket on. Finlay set off quite quickly so made a wee effort to stay in touching distance along the road. Next wection was a gradual climb through up the path which was very wet. Didn't want to push to hard here but pulled away from the rest of the field though lost a bit of ground on Finlay. In hindsight maybe should have pushed harder to stay with him until the foot of the steep stuff. Then it started proper when we hit the steep slope. On all 4s almost all of the way and it was a struggle. Just could make my legs move any faster. Couple of wee route errors though not horrendous. Gradually the guys behind reeled me in. Finlay was long gone. Hit the top together with John Gay. He got a wee gap off the top but then I caught him again and got a wee gap by the bottom. Unfortunately Brian Marshall had taken a better line down scree to the left. Alan Smith an even better one further left. Only Brian was ahead and though I could push to catch him. He was still going OK though and legs felt like jelly. Managed to face plant into a bog too. Finished 5s behind him in 3rd. Finlay almost 10mins ahead...10mins!! He's a monster in that terrain. Crackin race though, would like to do it again knowing the better lines.

Group ride with Cairngorm CC, Good fun. Mostly a steady pace but a few stops to wait for slow people. Few sprints to 30 signs and one hill. Didn't win any of them.

Evening run after work up Beinn Mhor down to Gorten hill and back. Legs felt tired to begin with then picked up. Through the valley was a bit of a bracken fest. Tried to push on back to Gaich wood. Got pretty tired at the end, maybe didn't drink enough in the afternoon at work.

Cycling 58:23 [3] 28.38 km (2:03 / km) +328m 1:57 / km

Wee spin out to Grantown then intended to ride the Tri time trial route. Planned to go steady but found myself riding along at 40km/h with a wee tailwind and felt good so started pushing to try and get a KOM. Unfortunately turned the wrong way at the top so ended up taking a completely different road. oh well. Next time. Legs felt OK after yesterdays run.
