Dyke 10km. After yesterday the legs were not feeling great but didn't feel awful warming up. Gordon Lennox set of quick so I sat in the chasing pack aiming to pace off Kenny WIlson (didn't recognise any of the other guys). A few km in was already struggling a bit and a glance at the watch showed 9.53 for the first 3km.....all is not lost, a 3km pb! Wee calculation suggested this pace was optimistic, especially as we turned into the wind. From there on dropped back a bit with another guy and the rest was a struggle. Pace steaily faded and wasn't really able to pick it up once we we turned for home out of the wind. Dissapointed with the time. However good test and with fresh legs would have been an ideal group to run with. Jess ran well to get a pb.

Invercharron games hill race. Coudln't not have a go at this one with the £300 first prize. Hopes of that slumpted with Robbie Simpson appeared but still money up for grabs. First couple of km were pretty flat. Ribbie set off quite fast, couldn't stay near him but settled into second. Colin Donnely was just behind when we hit the climb and he went past. Wasn't feeling great climbing up the twisting path, losing Colin and not able to pull away from the young guy behind me. Got a nasty shock when 3 guys suddenly popped out ahead. Turns out the marked route is actually any route on the hill and there are several well disguised short cuts. Not impressed at the at the time! Got to the top in a small group then got ahead going back down only to not know where the best shortcut was so advantage lost again. Hit the flat in 4th but quickly pulled into 3rd and Colin still in sight. Started closing quite quickly but he realised and stepped up the pace so couldn't catch him. Oh well. £50 earned and I'll know the short cuts for next year!
