Orienteering race 1:02:49 [3] 5.7 km (11:01 / km) +280m 8:51 / km
shoes: Icebugs 2014

5 Days of Italy day 1. Absolute shocker! Didn't get into the map and terrain at all to begin with screwing up no. 1 and 2. Next couple were better then more mistakes in the jungle of rocks and undergrowth. Rest was a little better but still a few more mistakes. Not feeling 100% running either. Apart from that...still great terrain. very challenging and enjoyed it!

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Icebugs 2014

Running 58:00 [2] 6.7 km (8:39 / km) +450m 6:29 / km
shoes: Icebugs 2014

Run immediately after the race. Just headed north from the arena through the area following little paths and kept climbing until I hit what seemed like a high point then headed back. managed to find the way.

(rest day)

Watching the WOC sprint. Decided to eat some pizza and drink some beer rather than running the public race. Jess choked with the cold anyway. good fun spectating.

Running long 1:59:23 [3] 17.53 km (6:49 / km) +1031m 5:16 / km
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 305

Run with Midge from the ski centre up Cairngorm then Ben Macdui and back. Feeling a bit sniffly and tired this morning - Jess full of the cold so probably a bit of that. Took it easy because of that but legs still felt rubbish at the start. Last section downhill was great fun. Midge's longest run by a stretch - she was a trooper - no trouble at all! She's whacked now though. Good day for it though breezy and chilly on the top - just avoided putting a second layer on.
italy tomorrow :-)

Cycling 2:19:40 [3] 65.49 km (2:08 / km) +661m 2:02 / km

Wee evening spin on the bike. To nethy then Colylumbridge then up to the ski centre. Felt tired when I set out but legs felt pretty decent so kept a decent tempo. Legs were feeling a bit tired when I hit the foot of the climb and struggled on all the steepest bits but recovered quite well for the flatter bits. Started feeling very hungry at Coylumbridge but no food but made it back OK without bonking.
