Orienteering race 37:54 [5] 5.9 km (6:25 / km) +130m 5:47 / km
shoes: Icebugs 2014-2

Oceania relay Champs. Interesting area with 1/2 farmland and half eucalyptus plantation. 1st leg. Much more positive today! Ran OK in the first half through the fast farmland and was up with the leading pack including William Lind, Simon Uphill and others. Then missed on a boulder in head high bracken - bad attackpoint main issue. Binned 4mins. motivation significantly less after this but still ran OK - lost about 1min to the others on the rest. Pissed off with the mistake but much happier with how I was running - game on again

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1] 2.5 km (6:00 / km)

Orienteering 45:00 [1] 8.0 km (5:38 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 2015

Jog with Jess and Ewan in Jasons task an area on the way across to the east coast. Mixed forest with some tin minings and hills relevant to the long. Nice

Orienteering race 19:59 [5] 4.4 km (4:32 / km)
shoes: New Balance Trail Shoes

Sprint B final (same course as A final). Launcestoun uni. Aim was to ease off the pace a touch and aim for smooth and get some flow back. Bit of a fail as I struggled technically - loads of little mistakes and hesitations. Legs heavy too. Bit depressing really.

Orienteering race 15:52 [5] 2.6 km (6:06 / km) +115m 5:00 / km

World Cup Sprint qualifier. Cataract Gorge. Cool place for a race. Hot day.
Rubbish run - going OK until no. 8 then got confused for some reason after running through some forest then compounded this by overshooting the control and lost over 1min. Legs felt pretty awful on the hills especially after this and very hesitant navigation. Qualification fail.

Running 40:00 [3] 9.0 km (4:27 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 2015

Leg loosener in Launcestown with jess and Ewan. Hot!
On the riverbank and round a park. Upped the pace to tempo in the middle section. Felt pretty sluggish but better for it.

Run with Jess in Hobart up Mount Nelson - a hill within the city. Awesome views and half the run on cool trails. Nice sunny day but breezy so heat not too bad. Sunny enough to get sunburnt though - idiot.
Feeling much bvetter than the day before and almost normal running again.
Followed by some wild new years celebrations (bed by 10pm!)

Running 1:00:00 [1] 9.5 km (6:19 / km)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 2015

First run on Aussie soil. In Hobart with jess and Ewan. Ran through the Queens Domain which was nice. Saw a few parakeets which were cool. Feeling horrendous! Jess seemed to be quite sprightly but Ewan and I were shuffling along like zombies! Had a wander round the taste of Tasmania festival afterwards - yum
