Orienteering race 2:12:37 [3] 7.9 km (16:47 / km)

Red course at John Boyd Thacher park -- EMPO club championships.
Once again am mightily humbled by people who know what they are doing.

But I found them all! And it was a great course set by Phil in a part of the park I had mostly never been in. Several of the controls (4, 11, 13) had downright heartbreaking route choices, and I'm delighted to say I probably picked the worst choice for those controls.

I also found a flagpole in the woods S of the marsh near 13, not too far from the marked hilltop boulder. Why is there a flagpole in the middle of the woods? There was also three old sunk pipes. I also ran across a (new) white string strung at about knee-to-waist height, about 10 m long, in the same section of woods. Didn't touch it....
